I had my home test drive today in Phoenix. The Rivian employee said that the car hauler was parked at the service center to unload some R1T’s. The R1S kept going West…

Let me know if you are. I am 10 minutes away. I also have my first mile test drive tomorrow and can ask if they are hiding one inside the service center.

CS mentioned in an email response to me that R1S production ramps in June. I currently have a May/June delivery window. Guessing it will be delayed but who knows…

My email from the dealer and the order form state 2023 model. Here are additional comments from his email about production dates: "Orders are placed between now and the 17th of December. Production should start at the end of the 1st quarter (March) 2022. Delivery should start 8 to 10 weeks...

I’m going to say it is all intentional. It is a premium color and I expect they are waiting until production to make sure it is unique. All of the manufacturers have jumped on the flat gray trend over the last couple of years and they don’t want others to copy it quicker than they can produce...

I agree. But, the hope is I don't ever have to hang out there. If a service center in the area is a requirement to deliver then a coat of white paint and plastic chairs in the lobby works for me. :like:
