I don't think that's a fair comparison. Rivian is an EV with proprietary software, UI, map, has it's own charger, no Car Play, etc. A working (and top notch) app is much more necessary for Rivian than a standard manufacturer.

The vent issue being an issue makes me laugh at the last two years of debates between reservation holders about manual vents vs. computer controlled vents. One of the main arguments was all of the "potential" issues associated with not having manual controlled vents....and every Rivian fan boy...

I agree. Rivian only has a Standard and High setting for regen. But a simple coast for a split second before kicking into regen would be nice.

I've been wondering the same thing. They have eluded to more Rivian videos coming, but it has been a while since they've torn their R1T, so I'm not sure what the hold up is.

If it's purely a practical/number decision, sure that makes sense. But, it's also aesthetic. Personally, I think the 21" and 22" wheels are ugly in person. The 20" ATs look so much better. It's an adventure truck, you want it to look like it!

I have the same hunch as you. I've been pestering Rivian asking for updates on the Dallas service center. I was originally told end of July. I reached out today and they said they would get back to me. They also "confirmed" (taking the position) that the service center is not delaying any DFW...

I am in the exact same position and have the same thought process. If it is a matter of a few more months, I will wait for the Max pack. But, we have no idea if it is a few more months or years. They are more likely to delay Max pack customer deliveries than actually deliver them to customers on...

Why do the prices very so much? The trims and mileage are almost all the same yet the prices vary by $10,000-$20,000. Not sure if it's just the list price we are seeing, but one "sold" for $109,000 and several more "sold" for around $135,000. That is a huge difference.

Interestingly, in regards to the "effective date", I did get invited for my first mile on 4/20/22...signed up for a slot on 4/21/22. I found that information out in the source code as well. But this is oddly close to the "effective date". I wonder if there is any correlation? I can't find...

I am DFW as well. I am hoping that Rivian is holding Shop and DFW reservations until the new service center opens. It should be opening "end of July" and Rivian probably didn't' want to deal with the confusion of customers and orders going to the temporary location or the permanent location...
