    Most states charge tax on your payment amount, monthly. I know Texas charges tax on the whole purchase amount that is often collected up front.

    Depends on whether youā€™d ever entertain buying out in the end. Iā€™d prefer a higher residual which will result in lower monthly payments and Iā€™d turn it back in. The lower payments are certain. Whether you can make money off residual vs market values is unknown.

    think youā€™re out of luck if already ordered from shop. They didnā€™t have my desired configuration, so in order to entice buying/leasing one of the inventory models, the offer came up.

    Itā€™s true. If you take shop inventory, theyā€™ll throw in a wheel upgrade, exterior color upgrade, OR interior color upgrade. They wonā€™t however give you two complimentary upgrades, at this point.
