The Rivian is as much a "luxury vehicle" as your '99 4Runner... meaning it is not. (I had a '98 4Runner, 5 speed SR5... which I had never sold it!). I'd much rather have the roll down back window like the 4runner over a functional sunroof :)
I think you are right that people seem to thing Rivian is "luxury" because there have been a lot of posts along those lines.
There wasn't much about the Rivian that made me think it was in that category (price alone is a bad indicator of what category a cars falls into)... but if you are...
The speed limit on i40 is 75mph, which means most people are going 85-90. its difficult to go 60-65 on i40 without impeding traffic.
I have also towed 7500# boats for over 20 years and have often towed at 75-80mph... never an issue if you have the right tow rig and things are set up correctly...
I am usually terrible with my timing when it comes to investing... but yesterday I decided to sell my 9000 shares of RIVN at $24... I finally timed something right! time to buy back in!
As others have said... get your AC checked. I live in Phoenix. I originally had issues on the hot days but they are now resolved... in fact our R1S is now shockingly good at keeping us cold on 115 degree days.
I have done exactly what the OP wants to do many times with no issues and did it again with my Rivian in June. Many lenders consider any current model vehicle to be "new" with the same rates for refinancing a loan as a "new" purchase. If your lender doesn't allow for this, then find a new...
To answer your question: there is no difference in the vehicle other than an LE badge on the dash vs. an AE badge. that it. The exact same spec/vehicle. Zero difference. The LE has a different pricing model in which a few wheel upgrades were free, and you might get a wristband key for free...
Our 2022 eTron-S (which is basically the new etron SQ8) averaged around 145 miles of range on 80%. And that was for a car with a $100K+ MSRP. The SQ8 etron updates don't really add enough to that number. in 2023 the etron is about 5 years behind. Anyone purchasing this car is going to regret...
We just traded in a 2022 etron-S Prestige for the R1S (the 22 etron-S is idenical i nearly every way to the newly renamed SQ8 etron... this was a mid cycle refresh and a name change... not a new model. The most significant change is a slightly bigger battery...but it is still a very ineffecent...
Same. By far the easiest vehicle to program with my Chamberlin MyQ openers. So nice that you don't have to go through the whole learning process on a Rivian.
I'm with state farm (have been for 30+ years) and purchased our R1S in June from the Shop... my policies are in my name and my wife's name. The Rivian was ordered and purchased only in my name. Plus, my policies have my full name, the Rivian paperwork does not. They had no issues during the...
They should just take all the '22s and add a "launch edition" badge... then put them in the shop, clearly stating 2022 Launch edition. Those who really want an LE can get an early (2022) build. Maybe add a nice little discount (pre-price increase for everyone??)
Probably wear slower and last longer with a lower speed rating. I always think of it as "higher speed rating" = replacing them more often. High performance tires don't last long (even if you are just driving around town).
Call JP Logistics and ship your Rivian... that way you know it gets there unharmed. Rent a uhaul ., put your crap in it and drive it (or do what i did... pay someone else to move it... then you just jump on a flight). Moving sucks (I just moved 1500 miles)... don't make it suck more with broken...
