So far! I haven't used them on a daily basis, but did use them camping a few times.
I'm not sure they regulate the trickle that well so I need to do some testing as overnight (1 night) one time they drained a 288 Wh Anker (!) and that seems like a lot for 12v trickle charging/top off. But...
South Bay Area, CA
I swapped all my tires and so have one extra, unused, never-touched-road Pirelli Scorpion AT for the 20" rims.
Asking $100.
Open to delivery if nearby (Cupertino, West SJ, Sunnyvale) and no haggle.
Yeah, tried this a few times and the grommet was so tight it kept pulling the tape off / disconnecting from cable. My first time working with firewall grommets so not sure if I wasn't puncturing it adequately or something.
I looked at buying cable and connectors, but didn't want a bunch of...
Also this - I found to pass cables with larger plugs the wire puller helped (it had like a little flex funnel that could envelop the plug) but hanger was much easier to get through the grommet.
On this, I found it way easier to use a rigid wire puller from frunk side - push through then can fish or pull wires either way. The one linked in parts list was reasonable and cheap.
lol thanks - typing too fast. Wedgie averted.
I saw those cables but wanted one that was very shielded given some peopleās experience with interference and couldnāt find one like that so had one that goes from medium size adapted to large. Running those would have been way easier š

Sharing a recent install I just completed in my 2022 R1T Quad.
I decided a handheld walkie just wasn't enough -- so I put in a hidden, hardwired Midland MXT275 under the front passenger footwell!
I wanted a clean, no-show install for when not off-roading and also didn't want to take up any...
nope! Uneventful service visit and nary a mention.
On plus side, I benefited from Rivian piloting a valet service appt where they come get your truck and deliver it back to you!
fwiw, Iām going to service center in April and will absolutely not be removing this for that.
Frankly, Iād be a bit shocked theyād raise a fuss on warranty given the well settled cases on this and zillions of cars with battery tenders, but shrug⦠Maybe bc I get discount legal through work Iām...
I do plan on finding a way to do that, as I think itād be great for leaving truck, like at airport or when backpacking and leaving truck at trailhead.

It's the Solix C300, which is 288Wh capacity. It does have big cooling vents on each side but seems to be passive cooling and didn't seem to get too hot. I'll keep testing though. Also, the Solix has some mixed reviews, so will see how it goes. I bought in part to power some high output USB-C...
Thank y'all!
Thanks - I had never seen these until this project, but yeah they're great! And seems like as portable solar / RV stuff is developing, more things are using the connector. Very versatile.
It can - but I'm planning on mostly having solar top off the Anker battery so it can also...
Inspired by @shrink et al's amazing detective work and follow on efforts and forum posts on vampire drain, battery tenders, etc., I decided to install a wiring setup to enable solar capable 12v charging for camping, Sierra trips, and the like in my Gen1 R1T.
I was experiencing pretty gnarly...
This amazing thread sent me down the āwhat is smallest canister retracting tonneauā and some like the āroll n lockā for Mavericks claim to be about 7 or 7.25ā max for canister size which seems like might fit well. Also, the rolling part is meant for a recessed track a little wider than 50ā which...
