We were considering taking our camper out with the R2 this weekend. I decided to see if it'd actually be able to power the camper at all. I know our R1's struggled with it enough that I ended up not bothering. Our Sierra EV's inverter is so much stronger here that it was kind of stupid to even...
I know a lot of us are lookin forward to the R3X, so I suppose this is the closest I've gotten to being able to make a comparison to one of the era of vehicles that they are emulating. A friend of someone I know has one with a custom wide-body kit on it and he just happened to show up today.
I finally got around to getting my TPMS sensors swapped into my new wheelset from the stock ones. I just happened to do the 2026.24 update and the software wheel swap at the same time, so it took me a while to realize what was happening. I thought it might have something to do with my rear...
Haven't seen anyone post about this yet. The R2 has the 12V battery mounted under the rear passenger seat. The seat is really easy to lift off to gain access to the battery. Seems to be the same kind of SLA battery that's in the other Rivian vehicles, but I did not remove anything to look at it...

If it's broken enough... Heard a loud pop while driving down a dirt road, then it suddenly felt like I had a flat tire on that corner. Unfortunately not the tire.
I didn't know this was a thing, but apparently it is. Congrats RJ.

My R1T is going in for rear damper replacement next week, and they added this FSAM-1380 onto my work order, that I hadn't seen before. Looks like it's very new.
RCA-30-25-001-1: Apply Sealant to HV Battery Connectors, R1T and R1S.
2.5 hours of labor. No cost to me since it's still under...
Last night I was having some fun on a dirt road in Rally mode when I suddenly had a turtle pop up in my R1T. It started behaving really strange after that until I realized that it was only powering the front wheels, even though the error said that AWD was permanently engaged.
By the way, it's...
Quite strange. Drove on some really nasty washboarded roads on my way home from dinner today. Truck handled them great. Just happened to walk around back and had to WTF about this happening:
I've never really had the rack on the truck before, just happened to have it on there because I picked...
Decided to do two swaps at the same time. Putting all season tires on my R1T, and taking the KO2's off my R1T to put on my R1S for this weekend.
The Goat Fabrication rail sliders made it trivial to lift both vehicles. Lifted the entire side on both of them with just my Eagle jack. Stuck a jack...
Took my R1T in for service today. It hasn't gotten a lot of use in the last... probably year or so, honestly. Remote access was acting wonky, not working at all, but I just ignored it since I had the physical key (because of taking it into service).
After service and after a few stops, I got a...
Saw as high as 305 but didn't get a picture.
Most of the people charging at the station were not Rivians. It did error out at some point on my charge though, not sure what the deal was. Stopped with the truck at 56%. No issues after another session.

0-60 will still be slower than the R1T, but 2.8s is still amazing for a vehicle of that size.
Wonder if Rivian will respond with even more power on the Gen2 quad that they haven't officially started...
