  1. Lucid Gravity

It'll be late 2025 before we see something that's in the 80k range. Really looks more like a luxury minivan though they can call it whatever the y like. I suppose a minivan has sliding doors and this doesn't. While it's definitely better looking than the sedan, I think most people will go to...
  2. Is this stock doomed?

Eventually the shorts will get clobbered just like TSLA.
  3. Do you always carry keyfob or just keycard?

PaaK and I've always got the key card in my wallet, just in case. Did the same with the Tesla and you're always ready for the valet.
  4. Too complex to use while driving, or parking.

Funny, I was just flipping through Consumer Reports and they gave the R1S a terrible score, a 57, mostly for 'Useability'. There's definitely a learning curve but I think it's a much more pleasant driving experience. I think they gave the early Tesla's similar scores. If I'm going somewhere...
  5. PSA - Use Alexa to play your Pandora Stations

My Honda Odyssey plays MP3s on USB. My Miata plays them, too. If it's my MP3, then there's no DRM issue.
  6. Cybertruck charging port not looking good. Rivian’s location is better

Never over-invest in a bad idea. The whole form-follows-function motif was nice but once they couldn't actually build an exoskeleton, what was the point? No dings?
  7. I just read where RJ was critiquing people who purchase gasoline vehicles.

Not in Europe or China. The global market is moving. He's not wrong.
  8. Let's remove the Conserve Mode stigma

About here they talk about the new disconnect and the differential in the dual motor and then compare it to the "dog-clutch" (Monroe video's words) in the quad. There's an electromagnet that pulls on a spring to engage or disengage a gear. I imagine this will be a much smoother transition...
  9. Will I be the only Rivian in New England?

I applied and have word that it was approved a couple weeks ago. Waiting on a check. "Congratulations! Your MOR-EV Trucks application(s) XXXXXXXX has been approved for $7,500. Your check will be mailed within 90 days."
  10. Cup Holders - There I Fixed It?

I actually like that I can push them in when not using them. I have an organizer on the floor for things like water bottles that works well.
  11. Should I be worried?

I had the same thing happened to me after the update yesterday. I did the update at home and it didn't show up until I leaving work. I had no issues driving home other than I couldn't use cruise or Driver+. I did a reset when I got home and they cleared and haven't come back. I called...
  12. Rivian R1S Becomes First Production EV to Complete the Rubicon Trail!

I'm curious what rack they have on top. Anyone have any ideas?
  13. R1T 20" AT Wheel Weight, Specs, Offset, Bolt Pattern, Construction

FWIW: I looked for 34" all seasons for 275/65/20: https://tiresize.com/tiresizes/34-inch-tires/ Most are R rated but they can definitely carry the load.
  14. Tire costs, about what Gas costs per mile.

This. I have a 'New EV' theory about tire life. Whenever someone gets one, they love the torque and zip around all the time. After they go through their first set of tires they chill out.
  15. Cape Cod and Islands Owners

FYI: There's a Chargepoint charger at the rideshare off exit 83. If you like, you could charge there while you ride on the rail trail or head to the Harwich Beaches. If you have a NACS adapter, there are some Level 2 Tesla destination chargers at Wequasett if you happen to go there for dinner...
  16. Rivian's van strategy is flawed says Ford CEO Jim Farley

If your fleet management works for Amazon, you can easily get it down to working on an app for a plumber or electrician with 5 trucks. And you'll know if your truck is at the job or not, how long until it gets to it's next appointment, etc. Of the major automakers, Ford seems to be doing the...
  17. Tesla exec in charge of Cybertruck supply chain has left for Rivian (Mustapha El Akkari)

The Cybertruck is tooling up. They must have parts on order and have all the agreements in place to deliver them for the next several years. With that feather in his cap, he probably could do pretty well to move on while the experience is hot. Perhaps he was bored.
  18. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

It could be that with a membership, EA is cheaper and maybe they can't charge at home. I have a Tesla and while the SC network is great when I'm traveling, I charge at home 99% of the time. I really don't care what I pay when I'm traveling but right now, it seems there really needs to be...
  19. Ford/Tesla Deal: Access to Superchargers, adapter coming, future EVs will have NACS (Tesla) port

If you see open stalls at the SC, why isn't this a good thing? It's by far the biggest and fastest expanding network. I wish Rivian offered a retrofit.
  20. Silverado 450 Miles of Range

And cost. Like the Hummer, it's not going to be cheap which may provide something of an umbrella for Rivian.
