I was pondering whether I'd consider the R1T to really be an "adventure" vehicle while driving yesterday. I realize the claim is partly branding, this isn't all that important since I love the thing, and I don't want to get overly pedantic, but still...
"Yes, it is":
- acceleration
- ground...
Reading through the positions in this thread makes me realize I'm a bit schizophrenic about protecting (vs. using) my T.
I carry rocks, dirt, lumber, bricks, etc., in the bed, and have several prominent scratches where overgrowth was just too friendly for the paint (which, btw, seems kinda...
With the exception of things already mentioned, specifically:
- long lead time for appointments,
- waaay too small a parking lot, and
- not much (or anything) in the way of updates while they have my vehicle,
...I've been very impressed with my experiences at Bellevue. I know these people...
It's 73(F, you folks in modern countries can figure out the conversion to C) out, and my El Cap Granite R1T's windshield's getting a fair amount of sun... And, oh, yeah.... it ain't got 0 miles.
Just sharing my own comparison of the Meridian sound system vs the earlier, which is what I own.
I have a loaner this week while the priests pray over my deceased communications module, and it's outfitted with the Meridian gear.
My first impression was that the sound was HORRIBLE. I was...
The tech who rode with me at the SC recognized the sound. It's apparently a "known" sound, he says it's caused by a very slight gear size mismatch.
He says Rivian has torn apart a bunch of drive trains, and determined it's not causing excessive wear, so doesn't need addressing.
The truck's...
Good thought - I will try that on my way to the SC. Might be a relevant additional piece of info.
To be clear, I could live with it as-is, but I don't think it's an intended sound, and unintended sounds have a tendency to predate failures in time.
Wow, I hate to wade into what seems like it could become a religious war, but... in the spirit of trying to be informative, this is from Les Schwab:
I certainly haven't done the tests myself, but I don't see an obvious reason for CR to manipulate their findings on this.
Another benefit of having a large fleet operator as your primary customer: imagine the customer support/service center savings as opposed to having 100,000 vehicles owned by (say) 80,000 individual customers? I'm sure Amazon's a demanding customer, but I bet the support cost to Rivian's a...
I sympathize with the OP's frustration, and I'm finding it interesting reading the various responses from other members. Clearly, Rivian hasn't managed to completely burn through the customer good will it developed early on. Yet.
There's a theme I'm seeing across a lot of the anecdotes...
