I did this with several items when they came out. I wonder if the Rivian logo would still pass their copyright/trademark inspections now that they are making items for Rivian directly.
Make no doubt about it, they will send you a bill for the extra registration fee next year if you renew for 2 years now. Government is inefficient except when it comes to collecting money from their tax base.
Also, you are supposed to pay tax for those tax free items on your state income...
New, never used. Was going to use to raise my tent a little when using it on the factory cargo bars, but ended up getting a cab height rack instead.

Just took mine off this past weekend, took about 5 minutes tops to unbolt it and lift it off. Was able to do it by myself too, thought I was going to need someone to help lift it off evenly, but just stood in the bed lifted it and turned it 90 degrees. Then got out and pulled it out the back...
Have had mine installed for the last year. I have found many uses for them, and when I don't need them I take the tie down rings off, and they don't get in the way at all. Great mod.
There are a few Pittsburgh Rivian groups on facebook. Maybe they will have a meet or something that you could check them out. As said above, you can do a demo drive at SC as well. We have family in the South Hills, but won't be back out that way for a couple months, or I would meet up with you.
I don't really want something that is FSD competition, but I do want BlueCruise/SuperCruise level. I feel that should be able to be accomplished with Gen 1 hardware, but development on that will stop, and resources focused on Gen 2.
I'd take a set of the new standard 20" wheels and tires when my 21s wear out. Hopefully they will be listed on the gear shop. I see the tires are now listed as a Rivian specific spec on TireRack for $254.99...
