  1. Front windshield low quality (cracks easily)

I dont think this is a glass quality issue, but rather an EV /airflow issue. The R1 is a slippery (aerodynamically speaking) vehicle for what it is, and EV's in general focus on Aero to increase range/decrease energy consumption. My belief is that in focusing on this, the vehicle has a more...
  2. Has Anyone Received their Rivian Tesla Super Charger Adaptor?

Has rivian provided any updates on adapters? As far as I can tell exactly 0 customers have gotten an adapter or had Rivian reach out to confirm address yet, I was under the impression shipping would start in April but seems that may not be the case?
  3. Reno to Tucson... Can't get there from here.

sorry what? this is going down 395 in California. there is no traffic on 395 ever.... also you are telling me you would rather make the drive take an extra 5 hours instead of driving in California for 3ish hours? I think you may be your own problem here.
  4. $1700 Service Center ONLY Windshield Replacement is UNSUSTAINABLE !

Ya, this is a very normal price for a vehicle with camera/radar under the windshield. My wife's mach-e was $1600 both times we had to replace it, my prior company vehicle was a Subaru outback and it was $1500, These are unfortunately normal prices for OEM windshields with safety tech underneath...
  5. Poll - What kind of replacement tires are you most interested in?

I run falken At3W's on some aftermarket 20's. Its a big range hit from my 21's, and they are louder for sure, but they are excellent tires paired with this truck. Your mileage will drop to about 2.0-2.1 in perfect weather @70ish mph, and 1.8ish around town. But if the range his isn't a huge deal...
  6. It's April 2nd and I'm still waiting for my NACS adapter email!!!

I feel like if they have that many orders they should be discussing with UPS for a large volume pickup, or organize drop-off at a UPS facility themselves. Maybe that is logistically impractical, but to me it makes sense if you are trying to ship out 1K + orders (no idea on actual numbers)
  7. 7 Automakers Join to Create "Ionna" a Massive New U.S. EV Charging Network

Eh, being close to the industry I think it's looking better then you, But I also get to see the large backlog of chargers in design and permitting in my areas. Companies are moving forward, just takes time to spin this stuff up.
  8. 7 Automakers Join to Create "Ionna" a Massive New U.S. EV Charging Network

Tesla built out 6,000 stations in a decade, they didn't start at 1.6 a day either, but ramped up to probably 3 a day. Expecting this group to start at 1.5 a day would be silly to, but ramping up over time to a similar rate to tesla isn't ridiculous. I work directly in electric distribution...
  9. 7 Automakers Join to Create "Ionna" a Massive New U.S. EV Charging Network

Why is this unlikely? Tesla Alone has 6,000 sites they have been building for about a decade, that means 1 company by themselves has on average built 1.6 new locations a day for a decade. I think 1.5/day for this conglomerate is doable. You don't have 1 team working on all of these, you have 1...
  10. Rivian wil not calibrate aftermarket wheels / tires

This is such a minor issue, can't believe the rage.... it's a 3% difference in wheel sizes and truthfully when I dropped from 21" to 20" with the larger (oem spec) tires, my speedo accuracy improved (it was about 4% over reporting, now its 1%). Such a nothing burger to complain about.
  11. BestEvMod has a Christmas gift for you! Christmas giveaway raffle!

My favorite feature of my Rivian is the ability to change opinions of my coworkers (I work in construction) about EV's. If I let them ride in it, it almost always changes their tune at least a bit, and every little chip at that wall gets closer to it cracking and falling down.
  12. CyberTruck is more than Stainless Steel...Tesla excels at Engineering in so many ways.

Porsche and Volvo (among others) have used 48v systems (for some things, not all things) for a few years now in their hybrids. Infinity, GM and Porsche all have steer by wire systems (really any vehicle with rear wheel steering has to have a steer by wire system). Not knocking tesla at all...
  13. Rivian vs 2019 Tesla in 12F weather

Funny enough, I commute in a 2022 model 3 RWD 4 days a week 6 miles each way, been about 35-45 in the morning here and 55ish in the afternoon, this 6 mile trip twice a day takes me a total of about 35 miles of rated range where as the 1 day a week I take my R1T I use about 20 miles of range, or...
  14. KO3 tires installed on Rivian R1T!

I had the 21" road tires before not the 20" scorpions, but my range hit going from 21" OEM to 20" wildpeak has been about 70 miles so far (dropping from 340-350 hwy miles to 270-280 hwy miles) which is about what I expected, but I was secretly hoping for better range. I will say the tires are...
  15. KO3 tires installed on Rivian R1T!

65 PSI? I have some Wildpeak AT3/W's on my truck, running 49 PSI but wondering if I should bump them up as well? max tire rating is 80 as well. Is there a noticeable benefit or issue running above factory (49) PSI?
  16. EV SportLine R800 Rims installed -- feedback & photos

Figure I would add my photos in as well! Wearing some falken wildpeak at3w's
  17. Rivian should merge with Lucid

Maybe not merge, but I would be interested in some sort of technology sharing agreement between the two companies. Lucid making it or not is a little grey right now (depends on SA continuing to pump in money), but there is no denying their technologies and efficiencies are incredible and...
  18. Beta Testers Wanted: Modular Phone Mount PRO

any idea when this will ship? I used a 3d printed mount that was just like this, but here in the California Heat it kept melting and becoming useless, Curious if this one will hold up to the higher heats better.
