That would be awesome! I've been scrutinizing Amtrak routes and schedules from Winston-Salem, and even though Amtrak runs to both Richmond and Spartanburg (Duncan), the schedule is not ideal. But W-S (High Point) to Raleigh is ideal!

Dog mode is for when the vehicle is parked. That should be a rare occurence that it gets used.

I have an Anker F3800+ and on the waitlist for the R2. The R2 has the 15 amp plug but will also have V2L (and eventually V2H?). I also have a 4000 watt genset and will be getting a few solar panels to hook up to the Anker. This redundency should take care of most of my power outage issues.

Not all capitalism is worthy of praise. Flippers, like ticket scalpers, add nothing of value. They earn whatever pejoratives that are hurled their way. They are not as bad as price gouges after a natural disaster, but only barely.

Considering that the 6 seat Tesla is an albatross, there is no need to attempt to compete with it. This obsession with 7 seat vehicles is utterly nonsensical given that family size is shrinking, not growing.

The original question was why would the Scout be a better alternative to the R2. To me, there is only one. The Scout is a very attractive vehicle. Now, for the negatives: 1. It is huge. I would not buy a Scout for the same reason I won'y buy an R1S, they are much more vehicle than I need. 2...

I was going to point out that, being a Boxster, it has a very low hood as well as the secondary safety latch, so perhaps an R2 at normal height may be easier to use. But there is still the head in parking issue. I see the frunk being more useful for storage of emergency items.

I have a Porsche Boxster and I never use the frunk. It simply is not in an easily accessible location. I use the rear trunk exclusively for groceries, etc. And I am not going to start backing into parking spaces just to use a frunk.

I have a Porsche Boxster that has front and rear trunks. Neither is powered, obviously, but more importantly, both have a loop latch just like RS's frunk lid. I simply slide my finger in the loop and pull the lid down. I have even gotten good enough to sling the lid downward to close it so that...

Another vote for Pirelli suckage on my Porsche (even though it is wildly different vehicle than a Rivian). Just replaced them with Michellins.

If I back the R2 into my garage then that charge port sits right in front of my electrical panel. Perfect.

The outside dimensions are very similar to my Porsche Macan. Given that the rear is boxier than the sloping roof of the Macan, I am pretty sure that my dog will be pleased.
