This R1S in enrolled in Autocharge before EVGO suspended Rivian enrollment. Not sure if that’s a factor but it worked easily and was very convenient.
Will still have a blue R1T and Limestone R1S in central Phoenix
It is. It was actually a huge pain in the ass POS. Very poorly built. Cost me...
Full trip data on the drive from Phoenix to Long Beach (R1S Large/Quad/20” AT’s with EV Sportline Aero Covers/Shield). Conditions were chilly and windy. This includes a few local food and restroom stops as well as the hour at the car wash.
Drop off at Matson Long Beach this morning was a success.
I decided to drive part of the way yesterday and left work a tad early to hit the road.
Farewell to Phoenix and my stupidly crowded carport photos. So happy to have space again:
Quick evolution of my carport BTW. I think I have a...
Actually just saw this on the Pasha website:
That should still be fine with an estimated transit time from San Diego to Hilo as 7 days, but I'm kind of liking the Mason 65% number better.
Oh goodness. I did NOT! Ugh. Looks like they still do the San Diego to Hilo route. I've already booked with Matson, but have not dropped off yet, so I can get a refund.
Going to check the Pasha schedules. This might be a better option. Great tip and much appreciated. I've just used Matson in...
Successfully installed on my R1T.
That 4% vampire drain improvement due to sleep issues will be huge for those "rare cases." I can't tell if my Red Canyon R1S is affected by that but if it is I sure hope it gets the update before my impending transport to Hawaii.
Not an option unfortunately. The vehicle needs to be drivable so they can drive it off and on the ship. I don't envision Matson staff willing to disconnect and re-connect a battery.
There are a handful on island. I've been keeping an informal tally. A Launch Green R1S owner has posted here. I...
I think the current version of Service Mode was released only about a month ago - maybe in the .46 update?
It basically turns off mobile commands and Gear Guard. I don’t think that’ll hurt anything in terms of drain.
Quick question - did you give Matson your FOB only and hang on to your key...
It's finally time to execute my long planned transport of my 2023 Quad Large Red Canyon R1S (affectionally named Pele ?) to the Big Island of Hawaii.
First, thanks to @domoplaytime for the trip report from Seattle to Maui a few months ago. Great notes. Learned a lot and I know it can be done...
Well, I am happy to report that I AM an idiot and it was user error! All is working - and quite well. Pretty impressed with this.
Long story short:
- I only watched the video and didn't read the written instructions and forgot to add the 2nd fuse, which is included in the bag (Step 5)...
This might be user, er installer error, on my end! Just noticed something but need to run to an appointment.
I’ll try one more thing when I get back. Will update later
Yeah, this might be 12V or bust for me. I did buy 2 of these for one of the R1S’s but it doesn’t appear to be an option for me.
Will wire to the R1T 12V when parts come in and see if I can tolerate visible wires.
F47 is officially a no-go for me.
I got power to the display again BUT I lost power to my Gear Guard drive plugged into the center console.
@EV Sportline any suggestions?
Appreciate the tip.
So for testing purposes, F47 would power the 2 USB-C’s in the center console and what else?
It’s an R1T so there is no 3rd row and it looks like F48 powers the USB-C’s on 2nd row displays and back of the seats, and OEM charging pad?
Am I reading that right?
If I stick...
@EV Sportline @jebinc @Mcdubjr
Even though I have a 12V in the center stack in my R1T, I hate seeing wires and decided to hardwire this last night Into the recommended F48 fuse. I ran and hid the wiring pretty easily. I was very surprised at how easily and conveniently the dash pad comes up. I...
This software upgrade could also potentially result in some shady Tesla resale stuff - i.e., removal of purchased features in used sales.
While my understanding is that they can't remove features present on the Monroney sticker at purchase (e.g, "FSD" at purchase for Tesla and Dual Motor...
Headliner is Alcantara, right? If so, I used Sonax on my old Model S with good results:

For the seats, I stick with faux leather/vinyl specific products...
I had a Tire Rotation done on an R1S at Discount Tire last week. Vehicle was returned to me with the both rear jack point covers missing and the front two loose.
At least it was "free..."
I had the Central Gateway Module replaced on my R1T in 10/2023 about a month after delivery because the truck wouldn't L3 fast charge. Replacing the CGM fixed it. I don't think it'll do much RE: connectivity, data transmission, and vampire drain.
