Make a reservation, but it does not seem to be time slot oriented. We had a reservation, but the people behind us did not, and they let them in as well. So reservations don’t technically seem to be necessary.
The dashboard and door materials seemed not as nice as my R1. Although it seemed nicer than what Tesla was putting in their Y vehicles.
In my opinion, there’s nothing wrong with the R2. It’s a very nice vehicle. I just feel like I’ve gotten spoiled with an R1 quality interior. My wife, who...
I had a chance to attend the Venice event today. Despite the fact that there was lots of people they seemed to do a good job of trying to get everyone a chance to sit in the car and touch it.
I was impressed with the amount of legroom in the backseat. Reminded me of my R1.
It seems funny to...
Ambient temp in the garage is about 80.
The main long cable does not get warm enough to be concerning. The concern is only with the pigtail cable which I measured at 125deg F today.
Too hot to touch is too hot for me, so I reduce the amperage a bit.
All great feedback, thanks. But it doesn’t...
Hanging from the NEMA plug.
I removed the pigtail and inspected but I don't see any overheating indications.
The heat seems to come from the pigtail cable rather than the ends of the pigtail.
I use the Rivian provided portable charging cable with the 50a pigtail adapter end plugged into my 50 amp wall socket in the garage.
My wall socket outlet does not get warm, however the 50 amp Rivian pigtail cable gets quite warm along just the cable section when I’m charging at 32 A. If I...
With winter here I quit using the AC.
And removed the sunroof shades.
I heard the vehicle has heaters, haven’t needed them yet.
I’m a Desert Rat in Coachella Valley.
I got in a conversation with my trash truck guy and he mentioned he recently traded in his Hummer for a new R1S. I don’t know his personal finances but this said a lot about my assumptions of the Rivian demographic. Assumptions are dangerous. Your neighbor is making a lot of assumptions.
I’m not aware of any metrics collected by Rivian, even in the diagnostics screens. But a simple battery tester might be useful to get a quantitative measure of health. CCA metric is helpful to this type of battery even though an EV doesn’t directly use the CCA feature of these batteries...
I used to get the takeover message on my GEN1 S when going under a particularly large overpass on 55 fwy in So Calif. I also tried ignoring it once, regretting that I had to do all the driving the rest of the trip. I learned my lesson quickly to honor those takeover requests.
I don’t think...
Thanks for the update, perhaps the BMS was the problem all along, and kept eating batteries.
As for the trolls…. Have you ever played the game of wack-a-mole?
This forum receives mostly problems, not the 1000’s of success stories.
But please don’t hijack this poor guys thread with a general discussion about reliability. Feel free to start another thread and post any metrics you have to support your theory.
You might loose remote access to things such as battery level . Worth checking while it’s in shipping mode.
I just leave mine plugged into a charger and manage it remotely, giving it a bit of a charge every few days. Worked great for me when we were in another country for a month.
I’ve got 33,000 miles and no wear showing. From the pictures in this thread Looks like someone’s been dragging some heavy objects across the edges of the seats. Not a good idea.
Some good leather cleaner or mild soap on a wet microfiber towel works wonders.
