Pull down your sunglasses and raise an eyebrow?
  2. Fake Shifting, Real Fun (I5N,EV6)

The I5N sounds like a fun car to drive, then there's “N e-shift” and “N Active Sound Plus.” From The Verge and InsideEVs via /. : Um, no. I use feel and sound to know when to shift, but I don't want to fake it.
  3. Permanent Jack Pucks

Has anyone installed permanent jacks? They could even be used when driving.
  4. Submit your questions for Wassym Q&A I’m moderating at LA Auto Show!

Is there a writeup somewhere, or coming here, of what questions were actually asked and what answers, if any, were provided?
  5. Submit your questions for Wassym Q&A I’m moderating at LA Auto Show!

Does Rivian build Adventure Vehicles or Mall Crawlers? Why so much streaming? On my adventures, the AT&T cell connection disappears quickly upon leaving the city limits, and even my T-Mobile 5G eventually disappears. Are you ever going to provide some offline capability, such as high-quality...
  6. How to turn off auto height?

What? I thought diesel-gate was that the vehicle software detected that it was being tested and secretly put itself into a low emission mode that was otherwise not available to the driver. All Rivian drive modes seem to be selectable by the driver, whether an epa driver or a normal driver...
  7. LinerX Floormats (All Three Rows) & Cargomat Liners (R1S/R1T)

Same but the tight front was passenger for me. It took some pulling, then they buttoned down and were easier the next time (after remival for cleaning). For the second row, start in the middle and then pull out each side.
  8. Made in the USA?

"Designed in United States" == "Made in China"
  9. Rivian Cabin Filter Performance (OEM vs Aftermarket) Engineering Analysis - Impartial 3rd Party Review

Thanks alot for this. What are the HEPA claims for each filter, if any? Everyamp says H11, and similarly priced competitor claims H13.
  10. Rivian and Bosch sue each other over electric motors production

so the Rivian flashlight is there for G1 Quad owners to do their own inspection? ;)
  11. I see you, Boulder!

Speaking of NoCo chargers, from Steamboat Pilot & Today: Steamboat Lake State Park just got 2 Rivian Waypoint L2 11.5kW chargers. May help in not having to get all the way out of the backcountry in the middle of an extended trip.
  12. Cold tire pressure

Yes, my G1 R1S reports -2 to 3 psi for both TPMS and the rear compressor/inflator vs quality handheld gauge. I see only 1-5 psi higher from tpms while driving, but it could be 1psi per 10F tire temp.
  13. I see you, Boulder!

Yeah, I used to say I was waiting for 300mi range and a charger in Walden or Encampment. I got one of those.
  14. I see you, Boulder!

Virginia Dale? Or Livermore, Kinikinik, Walden, ... plus Woods Landing and Encampment (WY)
  15. Sport Mode Gen 1 PDM is Pretty Darn Mirthful

Also in AP, one can use Reduced Stability to get both motors operating full-time, and less power reduction if the wheels slip a bit (careful!). The acceleration G force feels a little less than Sport, and there's not the top end power output, but yes AP can be great too!
  16. Sport Mode Gen 1 PDM is Pretty Darn Mirthful

Yeah, I have the 20" AT tires, and I drove a loaner Quad with 20AT on the same roads. Days apart, not back-to-back so not the best comparison. Sure the Quad is ridiculous and insane, and the G2 may be more so. But the PDM is quite good fun, and not that far behind. I definitely think the "P" was...
  17. Sport Mode Gen 1 PDM is Pretty Darn Mirthful

With all due respect to the Quad lovers, Sport mode with the Gen 1 Performance Dual Motor is quite exhilirating! On empty night roads, I just had some tire-squealing fun coming out of corners, and the acceleration from 0-60 or 40-70 sloshed my sinuses back pretty strongly. This sub-orbital craft...
  18. Key Fob / Phone Trick -- to lock and unlock vehicle with the fob, even though the phone is in the car)

Yes, I do this when fishing and don't want to chance soaking the fob. Leave fob in console, which locks, lock with card on drivers door, walk away. It's always still locked upon return (minutes to hours), and Gary records my re-approach on motion cam.
