The e-tron's charging curve is really hard to beat - there are not many EVs out that can fast charge the way it can (especially with it being a 400v system). While it may be possible that as Rivian gathers more data about the pack performance that they will unlock a little more charging speed...
There was a batch in the 17XXXs where they briefly added back the 12v in the frunk. My 18XXX does not have it, but it does have the one under the dash, which has now been removed in later VINs.
EDITED: As pointed out by @Belem I had it backwards (should have checked my app). I have a 175XX...
The canister size on their 5' Gladiator cover is listed as 7" which is *this* close to fitting into the empty space in the R1T. Gives me hope that maybe somebody will be able to figure out how to fit something like this into the existing space.
I have the A/T darks and I am not totally sure what you mean by "two tone." I suppose if I squint really hard I could convince myself there are two different shades of black on there, but as my mom likes to say: "A man on a horse wouldn't notice."
Yeah the little mini Rivian is cool and all, but I think I’d rather have my speed and the power meter centered, or better yet have the option to move it around
That was the whole point of it. It basically allowed the car to “wake” Siri using a button then used the BT phone profile to pass audio. It was superseded by CarPlay and isn’t really in use any more. A car without Siri Eyes Free would not have a voice command button to wake Siri, so that’s the...
I know this is an old thread but this was incorrect info and didn’t want to leave it hanging. This old “long press to invoke Siri” function was named “Siri Eyes Free” and was indeed a licensed feature in some cars and was not just a plain Bluetooth function.
From what I understand of DOT and NHTSA rules this (and the competing concepts) would not currently be road legal. I think this will exist only in dreams until there is some clarification and or changes around the rules.
My initial impression wasn't all that great, but I adjusted the lumbar settings which did help reduce that "pushed forward at the shoulders" feeling a bit.
Just to follow up with the resolution: R1T (on 20" AT) was delivered yesterday and it fits comfortably on low. Will test it on standard next but I expect it to fit based on there looking to be 5" or so of clearance above the truck while in low. Very relieved that I got through the door. It...
I signed my BPA on 8/16 in the morning before the law was signed, and as shown it lists 8/16/2022 as the signature date for Rivian. Am I screwed? I sort of think I am...
United Nations harmonized vehicle regulations (used in the EU and UK and maybe more places) state that the indicated speed must never be lower than the actual speed. In the US it has to be +/- 5% at 50MPH, but given the UN law, most manufacturers err on the side of indicating faster than actual...
The issue people raise is that quad motors cannot truly mimic the behavior of a differential in some low traction situations. (Note that I am not referring only to a locked differential). A further, but less well-proven quad limitation is that the truck can only put the power of a single motor...
In your post you pointed to the ability to use a single app for charging as an advantage of NACS. It is not, but would be an advantage to a Tesla monopoly.
Many of the posts re: NACS make the leap of assuming without evidence that having a NACS port would automatically allow a non-Tesla EV to charge on the supercharger network.
Tesla could very easily restrict the use of Superchargers by non-Tesla EVs regardless of the physical plug. Hell, they...
