Not an acoustics expert but since dull sounds are easily drowned out, I'm guessing that's why the signal noise has traditionally been sharp/shrill. I also have trouble hearing it above a running AC or the speakers.

Yes, black means it's enabled. The UI could use some work to make it clearer IMO.

I had originally accepted this as normal until my daughter asked me this morning why it looked so bad. Compared it with photos of other Rivians and they all appear to be manufactured well. Am I being ridiculous or does the stitching look like it was done by a 5yo?

This is what we did. I may trade it in for a dual motor (for the range) when mine gets built next year if the trade-in value is ok. Glad I pulled the trigger early because we're enjoying the heck out of this car.
