I understand and appreciate that most on this forum love their cars and the brand. But let’s not get carried away - for many of us, the service is absolute garbage. For a company to have the vision of setting up one service center to cover all of Los Angeles which is one of the EV meccas of the...
Yes, it was a 350kw charger. I’ve never had this happen at a 150kw charger with the Rivian. But what I find perplexing is that my Model S has never had this issue at the same 350kw charger.
Yes yes! The suspension in soft is substantially improved. I have to drive through the infamous Portuguese Bend in SoCal every day and the compression rebounding and the ability of the car to soak up bumps is vastly improved. Less clunking from the front suspension after the update but some...
Got the update last night. My two cents after driving 100 miles today:
1. The suspension in soft is substantially improved. I have to drive through the infamous Portuguese Bend in SoCal every day and the compression rebounding and the ability of the car to soak up bumps is vastly improved. Less...
So sorry to hear about your problems. Unfortunately, El Segundo is completely swamped with cars waiting for service and severely understaffed. My car was there for 2 weeks immediately after delivery. I called every day, no one would call me back and I made time to go visit them 3 times during...
Hi! I’ve owned 5 EVs to date and here are my 2 cents:
1. 80 to 90% daily is fine and will not affect longevity of the battery
2. Daily to 90% is fine
3. Frequent charging at DC chargers will not degrade your battery appreciably more than level 2 charging at home
4. Regardless of DC fast charge...
Good point. It’s the quality control at the factory that is causing these initial problems. My SA mentioned that the recent layoffs also affected the SCs so I doubt that Rivian is immediately looking to revamp their service for customers.
I agree with you 1000%. Third party repair partners is what they need to do until they have cash to create more SCs. What is ironic is every single person that I have interacted with at Rivian has been nothing but polite, sincere and wanting to help. I’ve made it a point to tell anyone I speak...
New start-up so we should have lesser expectations - I get that. What I don’t get is how they failed to foresee the SC nightmares that would occur in large metropolitan areas. El Segundo is the only current SC that covers all of Los Angeles and if you try to make an appointment, the first one...
I had a similar experience at El Segundo. I took delivery on May 31 and after many calls later, dropped off my car for service (to fix things that should have been caught if Rivian had quality control) on June 3. They said the car would take at least 1 to 2 weeks. Naturally, I’m twiddling my...
OMG. I’m so sorry to hear that. Now I’m scared they might keep my car for an extended period of time. Maybe I should bring my car back and take it back to them when they are actually going to work on it.
I agree they currently have no quality control before delivery. They did mention that more...
I hear you. Sorry you are experiencing the same thing. I guess it’s to be expected with a spanking new car company but rationality goes out the window when you don’t see your new car in the garage ? Hope you have better news soon!
Yeah the door was missing the flashlight. In all my excitement at the delivery, I of course forgot to check.
America’s tire did a road force balance and the shimmy got better but still there on certain parts of the freeway that I take. My other cars don’t do it on the same stretch but the...
Thanks and sorry about what you are experiencing. When I bought the car, I wasn’t expecting a high level of service but I also wasn’t expecting this either. It’s just impossible to get a hold of the person in charge of my car, which is frustrating. On the other hand, the 3 days I did have with...
