  1. 6-50 compatible charger

Is that a gen1 UMC? I have a gen2 Tesla UMC from October 2019 and it works fine to charge multiple EVs. I put my Tesla UWC into compatibility mode to charge the Rivian, but it's not needed for a Mach-E. v2 superchargers won't charge anything but a Tesla.
  2. Story: Introducing Rivian Assistant & Rivian Unified Intelligence. Unlock hands-free utility with Connect+

This would have the AI do things that you can do manually, but don't want to bother yourself with. Connect+ is mostly for the data plan. They are just hanging features onto it.
  3. Story: Introducing Rivian Assistant & Rivian Unified Intelligence. Unlock hands-free utility with Connect+

Better yet, not have to issue a command at all. The system recognizes the truck has gone into drive and it sets your preferred drive mode, overriding the ridiculous EPA requirement to set to AP/auto ride height.
  4. Story: Introducing Rivian Assistant & Rivian Unified Intelligence. Unlock hands-free utility with Connect+

This will be great if they can make it agentic to perform tasks like putting the truck into your preferred drive mode when you start it, or changing the drive mode to all purpose / soft when you enable D+. Probably not though.
  5. SSD usb-c vs USB

Shouldn't have any problem with an SSD. I've been using one since June 2024. I did have a problem with it after a little while where it pretended to be too slow from a fault in the benchmark. To fix this, take the drive to your computer and open the benchmark.log. Find the words "slow" or...
  6. 33%

Gas gauges are typically pessimistic and show a reading lower than actual. Even when my Miata hits 0 miles to empty, I still have about 2 gallons in the tank. At 35+ mpg, that's at least another 70 miles. 70 miles in the Rivian would be 20% or so, and 0% is a lot closer to true zero.
  7. Can you guess the forum member this one belongs to?

It's interesting to see that he's OCD enough to want to use stenciled letters to make it look more professional and uniform, but then he oversprayed all over them. I also wonder if he sprayed JUNK first and then thought that wasn't specific enough, so he added extra words about Rivian (in...
  8. Disappointed in Rivian...You missed an opportunity (May the fourth be with you)

Probably don't want to fly too close to the sun. They'd end up like Motorola and the Droid phone. They ended up having to shell out a bunch of coin to Lucasfilm to license the name - after the phone was announced.
  9. Can you guess the forum member this one belongs to?

Going to need some more info to narrow this one down.
  10. Maintenance costs pricing is high

It's definitely closer than people say, though the delta can go the other direction when you're paying a dealer to maintain an M or AMG. I do most of my own maintenance on both ICE and EV either way (tire rotations, brakes). An oil change with good oil and filter (Mobil 1) is under $50. Me...
  11. Rivian Camp speaker does not work

Ironically, the Rivian product probably doesn't understand how to negotiate with the smarter charger that can adjust its voltage to make the charging more efficient. The generic one probably provides a fixed voltage without PPS and the camp speaker just takes it.
  12. Rivian Camp speaker does not work

Delete it from your phone and re-pair it. I've had to do this countless times.
  13. An R1S to tide me over until I get the R2

If you don't need a car right now, I'd just drive whatever you have until your order for the R2 comes in unless you're planning to keep your interim vehicle for at least 2 years, preferably 3 or longer. Even if your R1 doesn't depreciate (and it will), sales tax will raise the TCO a lot no...
  14. 2026.07 "Improved Cellular Reliability" — Anyone Actually Seeing a Difference?

PaaK is worse for me, back to its old tricks of forcing me to use the app to unlock the truck again, more frequently than before. Commands also fail to send (start charging, turn on climate) unless I send an unlock command first and then it stops throwing errors. I did have a spat of cell...
  15. Home Charging Error - Using Portable Charger

Tesla UWC has an integrated J1772 adapter so it works with all cars. If/when you get a car with a NACS port, the adapter stays attached to the EVSE and you plug the NACS wand into the car without it.
  16. Home Charging Error - Using Portable Charger

Mine melted after a little more than 2 years. I probably only unplugged it 3 or 4 times. I used a Tesla gen 1 UMC which let me charge at 40A though. If you're just replacing the receptacle (14-50R), that shouldn't be very expensive, probably whatever the electrician's minimum charge is...
  17. BYD Flash Charging. 800kW speed. Get full battery charge in 8 minutes

Need a TL;DW for the OOS video, as usual. Also, rather than just consider how fast you can charge to get back on the road, or whether this helps support people who can't charge at home, look at how this changes the throughput of a charging station from a vehicle perspective. When each vehicle...
  18. Home Charging Error - Using Portable Charger

You probably have a loose terminal on your receptacle. Unplug, remove the receptacle and tighten the terminals with a torque driver (not just a screwdriver). The receptacle could also be starting to fail if it's a $15-$20 part. This is what they look like when they fail:
  19. Improved phantom / standby battery drain after new update

Not much of a difference for me, but I have noticed PaaK is back to being as unreliable as it was prior to 2026. Whatever efficiency tricks they seem to be trying affect the truck's ability to wake up from a phone.
  20. Hit by a Toyota Corolla Hybrid Today

Yes, the pickup didn't yield the right of way and made an illegal lane change into the turn lane over the solid line. The Corolla also made an illegal lane change over the solid. Depending on the state, the two Toyota insurance companies might fight over fault here.
