You want this to happen. Early Rivian’s had an issue with the evaporator drain getting clogged and leading to electrical bricking. Some time in 2025 Rivian added the high fan blow out with a software update after parking to clear the drain and reduce the risk for this issue.

I would not wait to get the 12V replaced. Once the warning is there, there is no guarantee keeping it plugged in and charged up will preserve the 12V for another few weeks. Rivian prioritizes 12 V replacement, you can literally do a walk in appt and they will replace it on the spot.

Pay extra for the spare tire kit. Get a AAA membership.

Dead 12V but try pressing the frunk button many many times. It’s apparently a method to “wake” a stubborn Rivian. You never know.

Even in Southern California which arguably has the most Rivian service centers, it takes more than 45 minutes to get to any one of them due to gridlock traffic. Be glad your center is “just” 45 min away.

This. It is the small capacity of the 12V Rivian decided to use which leads to a high number of charge/discharge cycles. This leads to accelerated wear. There’s probably nothing wrong with the battery at all, it just uses up all its charge/discharge cycles and we need a new one. For a 7000lb...
