The way I read all the recent announcements are
1) White interior will not be produced for the first batch of launch R2’s so if you want to be the first one on the block it will be a black interior. It does not imply the white interior will not be available for a launch model in the future...
Price came in lower than I had expected. The online reaction is just bonkers. People who complain its not $45k (c'mon for a launch performance dual motor with 656hp?!) and don't realize a Toyota Camry is now 45k, and the avg new car now is 52k.
I hope Rivian sells a ton of these.
You want this to happen. Early Rivian’s had an issue with the evaporator drain getting clogged and leading to electrical bricking. Some time in 2025 Rivian added the high fan blow out with a software update after parking to clear the drain and reduce the risk for this issue.
The mouthwash smelling Rivian washer fluid is terrific. It’s super expensive to buy separately and many of us would love an alternative. I use the tablets and they are terrible (but really cheap). GM reportedly also has a minty fresh washer fluid but the aftermarket Delco bottle doesn’t have a...
I would not wait to get the 12V replaced. Once the warning is there, there is no guarantee keeping it plugged in and charged up will preserve the 12V for another few weeks. Rivian prioritizes 12 V replacement, you can literally do a walk in appt and they will replace it on the spot.
Post seems written by AI to be honest.
Common R1 failure points
1) 12V battery
2) Air suspension
3) Half shafts
4) Trim pieces, weatherstripping (esp rear hatch)
5) Bad alignment from the factory > premature tire wear
6) HVAC drain leading to "don't drive through deep water" bricking

What modern car has a CD player? This has to be a troll post.
Next thing you know people will be asking for actual physical switches and buttons. Wait…..
Nice seeing the dual motor getting some love. Even in base non performance form, the acceleration is excellent and it has plenty of power. Most people have more use for range rather than a little faster acceleration.
With the discontinuation of the Ford Lightning I guess it was a toss up...
These updates are rolled out to the beta fleets months before they go out to all customers. Its staggering to think not a single beta tester mentioned the smaller fonts and increasingly inefficient use of screen real estate.
Yes the constant shrinking of the displays and gauges for the info screen on the center is very annoying. That dumb worthless towing tab using up space (2025.46), and now (2026.03) the mi/kwh display is microscopic. What programmer made it that way and went, yes, its better to shrink fonts for...
I will never understand why each update makes the fonts smaller. We're old and don't have great eyesight. Make the fonts bigger. I loved it when they made the speedometer font larger. Now this update and the past one shrunk the center screen with the "Towing" tab taking up useless space...
Jack Pucks aren’t too expensive and it’s insurance to prevent some inexperienced tire shop from literally breaking your vehicle. Everyone should buy a set. My Costco claimed they had pucks but I asked them to use mine. They said oh we are glad we did because yours are different and the other...
Even in Southern California which arguably has the most Rivian service centers, it takes more than 45 minutes to get to any one of them due to gridlock traffic. Be glad your center is “just” 45 min away.
This. It is the small capacity of the 12V Rivian decided to use which leads to a high number of charge/discharge cycles. This leads to accelerated wear. There’s probably nothing wrong with the battery at all, it just uses up all its charge/discharge cycles and we need a new one. For a 7000lb...
