So...it's better than the current Gen2 R1 rear release. Let's at least give them that.
But I'm disappointed that there is still this "malicious compliance" element where it is clear they just don't want to do it, and are doing the absolute minimum to be able to say they're doing it.
It's...
It uses that voice if you're in "On-road" drive modes for more than 70% of the time. If you spend time on off-road mode, it changes to the lumberjack voice.
Are you talking about the Assistant voice generally, or the new navigation voice (the latter is entirely NPR vocal fry)? Now that they both sound more natural, I just wish it was the same voice.
Almost all car makers put a banner/toast at the top; and on extreme wide angle lens, even tiny banners end up blocking the view from about 6ft to infinity. Definitely frustrating. Our Tesla's homelink button always popped up right as we were trying to back into the garage, and even though it's a...
I feel the same, this is v1.0, it'll get better.
I'm used to narrating my text messages with punctuation. So I tend to say: "I'll be home a 6pm period what do you want for dinner question mark" And it seems to work across most voice recognition systems.
Exact same thing happened with me. I have message notifications turned on. I was able to send a text via Assistant, which sent fine. But the response I got back a few seconds later only showed up on my phone, I never got a notification from Assistant that I got a text message.
I issued one comment - "Hey Rivian, turn off AC."
That resulted in 7 boops and beeps: 2 to acknowledge the wake word, 4 to confirm the command and action, and a final beep to timeout the follow-up listening.
Definitely feels a bit too much like talking to a star wars droid, and this is coming...
One real feature request - it would be nice to ask Assistant to mark a current location as a speed trap, accident, or road work, for purposes of crowdshare navigation. I've never wanted to dig through an on-screen menu while driving to do these kinds of things, but would happy ask Assistant to...
Yep, that's the reason my Google home can arm the home alarm via voice command, but not disarm it :) I'm glad the devs thought of these cases.
IIRC Lucid does allow voice commands to open the trunk/frunk, and with either VoiceID or gating the function to when the vehicle is in Park and is...
Interesting, but practically speaking I'm not going to have a power bank and reservoir and some external bluetooth button to trigger the wiper. I'd love to have something integrated into the front camera washer (we have that, right?) or regular washer mechanism.
My mind is going to some integrated nozzle to fit a rear camera washer onto the shade assembly! Wonder what the tubing routing would need to be like...
Interesting, I tried that as well, and I didn't even get the hopeful "maybe later" message, just "I'm sorry, I can't change my voice. Is there anything else I can help you with?"
You were able to get it to speak faster? I asked and it said, "Sorry, I can't."
One thing I liked: The Maps navigation voice is better now, WAY more natural sounding, kind of like an NPR Radio intern. I'm happy that it no longer says "in a QUORT'r mile, make a left turn" or "turn left at the...
So now that 2026.15 is out, what works, and what doesn't work? What do you wish it could do, that's not quite in the inaugural release?
For me, one of the biggest QOL changes would be to "turn on/off rear accessory mode." It's something I always forget to do, and then takes 4-5 taps while...
Good timing. I just did a "panel gap wind fix" yesterday.
I've always noticed a whooshing above my head from near the A pillars on both sides, but after installing a GMRS antenna with 5mm RG58 coax running up the passenger side of the windshield, it mostly went away from that area and I only...
Oh nice, ty!
From the video, it supports two separate WiFi networks too, which presumably means one can be at home, and one can be the hotspot from the truck itself, which may be helpful when in camp mode or anywhere away from home.
I'm running the HACS Rivian integration on HA, and don't see anything that reports on 12v battery, other than the normal-operation/fault indicator.
I'd really like to see when and how often the vehicle wakes from sleep to top off the 12v battery. Is there a way to do this?
Not a fan from the pic, but could be one of those things that look better in person?
IMO it's so stark that it's a higher risk that you might not like it or it stands out too much, especially against a fairly muted Launch Green. How about color-matched to your paint, or the Quad bronze instead?
