  1. BFG 285/60/20 tires with 20" aftermarket wheels installed (+ blacked out badges & light bars tint)

It seems like there’s a few people here that really want this setup to have poor range results. I don’t calculate my range on trips or obsess about range while driving, I enjoy the vehicle. I rarely use Conserve mode and I generally drive as fast as I can get away with. I’ve also let many...
  2. BFG 285/60/20 tires with 20" aftermarket wheels installed (+ blacked out badges & light bars tint)

The rubbing is only at the extreme outer edge of the tire. I’m guessing that if the tire was 2-3mm narrower it would not rub. after using these tires for about 10K miles now, there’s no damage to my inner fenders from the infrequent rubbing. So it can’t be much. So yes, I’d bet that a...
  3. Conspiracy to sink Rivian? Wall Street Journal article

Also, Tesla had the unique advantage of being gifted a free factory (Fremont) & production tools from Toyota. That had to help.
  4. What can a Rivian do at Pismo Beach / OHV Sand Dunes?

  5. Rivian can we get an new update for headlights

Not difficult, but not convenient. Just like when two taps on the screen was all it took to close my garage door, but the new one touch steering wheel option is a huge upgrade. I agree with the OP, I’d like an optional setting to have all the exterior lights turn off when in park. Especially...
  6. Frame replacement needed after accident damage (R1S)

In some cases ā€œframe damageā€ can be something that’s easily repaired, but for some reason the insurance company will not allow it & insist on replacement. These become salvaged title vehicles that are repaired & used without issues. I know someone that got a great deal on a nearly new Porsche...
  7. Q2 2023 Results -- $RIVN on the right trajectory: earnings solid and revenue, margins all heading in the right direction

I purchased RIVN this morning also for the same reason. The article linked pointed out that the stock has risen 60% in the past three months. So perhaps the market was anticipating this good news & had already boosted the stock price accordingly. Also from the article: ā€œā€¦new EV SUVs and...
  8. Q2 2023 Results -- $RIVN on the right trajectory: earnings solid and revenue, margins all heading in the right direction

Weren’t comparable versions of those SUV’s priced at least that much higher than the R1S?
  9. Q2 2023 Results -- $RIVN on the right trajectory: earnings solid and revenue, margins all heading in the right direction

Thanks for sharing this. This is the first time I’ve heard that Amazon’s order has been increased to 400K vans by 2025. This seems like big news. Has this been verified? Also on this video was the topic of other companies lowering prices of some EV’s, and does Rivian need to lower its prices...
  10. CyberTruck in F150 wrap, Frunk looks small

Saw this on the freeway today. Looked like it had been driven hard off road. It was dirty, had big scratches & a couple broken body trim parts.
  11. Tire question - Cooper Rugged Trek on 22”

My $0.02. My R1T came with 22’s and I also have a set of aftermarket 20’s with BFG AT’s. I prefer driving it with the 20’s because I don’t have to worry about touching a curb & scratching my wheel, because the sidewalls on the stock 22ā€ tires arenā€˜t tall or wide enough to protect the rims from...
  12. BFG 285/60/20 tires with 20" aftermarket wheels installed (+ blacked out badges & light bars tint)

The only place I could find TPMS sensors at the time was Tire Rack. They weren’t cheap, but they were supposed to be the same as the OEM sensors used by Rivian. They worked as advertised, so no complaints. There were other threads here somewhere with a lot more discussion about TPMS sensors.
  13. Manual tonneau cover for R1T has arrived!

Sorry for my ignorance, but how do you order this, and what’s the price? I couldn’t find it in the Rivian Gear Shop.
  14. Potential SC in Hayward, CA scrapped?

https://www.sfgate.com/tech/article/rivian-unloading-bay-area-real-estate-18142498.php According to this article, Rivian is bailing out of a lease for two large industrial buildings in Hayward, CA. This is disappointing news for those of us hoping that there was going to be a new service center...
  15. Misaligned steering wheel issue on R1T and R1S -- NHTSA Customer Satisfaction Campaign RCA-10-23-002-1

Are these alignments at Rivian Service Centers being done for free under warranty? My steering wheel didn’t used to be off center, but it is now. Seems like something an alignment would fix. Unless the SC would do it for free, it’d be more convenient to have it aligned at a local shop.
  16. My cobbled together budget spare

I like this idea almost as much as your name (cowsr4eating). But I don’t think it would work. Reason - Rivians use gravity to lower themselves when air is released from the springs. But with one corner held up by a fixed object, the force of gravity wouldn’t be allowed to work. If there were...
  17. Most economical wheel choice in the long run?

This is sound thinking. Having driven my R1T on both stock 22’s and aftermarket 20’s for a few months, I’d warn against the 22’s on stock tires in urban environments if you want to avoid wheel damage. The 22ā€ tires arenā€˜t wide or tall enough to protect the rim from curb damage. This combined...
