Hummer has been clocked at almost 370kw on a good 800V charger. At least it still charges fairly well on a Tesla 400V charger, because after 50% it still holds a decent kw rate. I have seen up to 125kw at 85% SoC, the GM vehicles do not have any cliff at 80% like Ford and Rivian. So comparing...
Not surprising at all, based on my Ford experience. They were approved end of Feb, first real deliveries start in April, but some now have Oct as an estimated shipping date. Luckily for me, I get one in April.
I took my Hummer to a magic dock after hearing they upgraded the output to 500A. The first Tesla charger I plugged into only output 34kw, so Tesla is not immune to this problem.
But on a more positive note, I switched chargers and the second one output 500A (185kw on the Hummer) up to 45% and...
I tried the navigation today and could see no improvement at all. It did provide an initial alternate route, but that was on a road closed due to construction. It also still does the frequent rotating of the map display while driving in a straight line.
My TuneIn radio was dropping out more...
Have not road tripped in a few months, but I remember it will pop up a brief message telling you the target charge % you need to the next stop, when you arrive at the charger. But once you start charging, that target message goes away, it is not persistent, so you have to pay attention.
I did...
I had this issue when I bought mine used. They had panel misalignments that caused it. FYI, it took me 7 weeks to get a service appointment. Apparently the original owner ignored the issue.
They are likely checking the MAC address from the vehicle modem. Each manufacturer gets there own range of MAC addresses for the modems in the car. That is also probably how Rivian is blocking non-Rivians on their chargers. MAC addresses are used for the Autocharge+ on EVGO and are part of...
When I charged my Hummer at a magic dock, I pulled 500A for 7 minutes, followed by 400A for 25 minutes. Handled it just fine. This was in Phoenix weather, not cold.
As of this morning, the Ford app and nav have the NACS compatible chargers natively, including live charger status. Plug and Charge OTA for Tesla network also started rolling out today. Ford also has this feature with EA.
Ford just updated their app this morning to include Tesla chargers in the Blue Oval charging network, meaning you can now pay via Ford. Also, a few Ford owners have received adapters already, so that is why they have to support it now. Rivian has not set up a payment path for Tesla yet, so...
You have to go into connected services via the FordPass app and reserve the adapter, this is not automatic. Then you also get an email confirming the order and a shipping date. I got in early prior to the web site crashing (order number for me is 1091). I have a Job 1 2021. My delivery date...
Two minor differences:
1) Magic Docks still have the AC pins, the Ford adapters do not.
2) There is the extra lever to release the NACS plug from the adapter.
