For sure, at least with phones product refreshes come on a regular schedule. If Rivian is going to release a new generation every 2 years then yeah, I'd hold off. And if I knew this one was coming, I'd have waited (mine's not yet a year old). Rivian, at least put some consumer shoes on so we...
The upgrade is soberingly expensive. I have an R1S Quad Adventure with 6k, trade in offer is 67k. Oof. I'm a sucker for new features and the extra range would completely remove charge stops for our typical longer trip. That said, it's tough to justify $20+k for those updates. And of course...
What's the max current supported by the Rivian supplied NACS adapter ? The lectron says 500A. The Rivian listed spec doesn't say, only says it "supports" level 3 so perhaps that implies 300A.
Thanks all, glad I declined. I like Schwab but the idea had a smell to it.
Now I just have to find the right extender so I can inflate the 20" forged valve stem. I think Schwab didn't quite have the right tool handy and struggled with inflation. I bought a little elbow from Amazon. Works just...
Anyone have perspective on tire siping for all-seasons ? Les Schwab suggested it on a new set of Michelin Defender LTX MS/2's - I'm a little skeptical that Michelin wouldn't have already done ideal tire surface texture/shape but. had never heard of it.
tire siping - Brief Consumer Reports test...
@EarlyAdptr
How did the MS2's handle ? Aside from the width, the M/S 2's seem like ideal tires in the wear, lifespan, weight rating category. I saw one poster elsewhere complain about handling (lost the thread) but Defender's seem great in most areas. GEOLANDAR CV 4S looks interesting but not...
Thanks,
Is 115 acceptable now ? (I had a failed install at Costco with 115's last year). If so, is there downside ? I'm not driving aggressively or taking risks on rocky trails fwiw.
I see the Wrangler is 116. Not sure why it wasn't on my tire radar.
@ksurfier what's your take on Michelin Defender LTX MS2 vs those not-yet-here Geolander CV 4S, or any of the other road centric tires. My first take on the Yokohama was that it intended to be a "great for winter" tire without being in the pure winter category like the Ice-X. So if you were...
How soon ?
How does it compare to the Michelin Defender LTX ms/2 ? I see it highlights winter traction. I don't necessarily need winter specific performance as I hope to find a winter tire so if the Michelin's better the rest of the year, it would be good to know.
I was just about to buy Defender LTX MS/2. )Bought the MS but Costco balked at the weight rating last summer). I saw it was excluded due to width but it has the weight rating, efficiency and mileage lacking in several others. For someone that only does occasional trailhead off-road driving...
Hey Marty, did you get 275/65/20 Blizzak's ? I'm also in Bend but couldn't find a shop that would install the Ice-X's (60/20) due to insufficient weight rating. I recall NW Wheel and Tire mentioning Blizzak's.
How did they work out in the past few weeks of insane ice and rain ? I lost count of...
115's are probably fine but the stores I tried would not install them. I attempted to explain that 115's were stock on several vin's but to no avail. Michelin released the all-season LTX/MS2's with updated load. Hoping they do that for Ice-X or I'll need to find some black market installer. I...
