We leased an EV9 until R2 comes out. Great car, but hasn't come close to making me think we may want to keep it over the R2.
Software isn't great, I don't think legacy automates understand how to drastically improve vehicles via OTAs.
The interior is nice, but not anywhere near R1 quality...
Initial thoughts
Good entry level car IF you never do any road tripping. 130kW charging is rough. Good range though.
Quite a bit smaller than R2, about 16" less in length, 2" less in width, and 4" less in height.
We have an EV9, and this interior is comparable (though probably lower quality...
That does seem a little low.
I'm hoping for maybe ~350-400 miles, but guessing that would be on the single motor large. We'll need the all wheel drive and I'd like the tri-motor. A tri-motor with >325miles would be realistic I hope.
I think the truck is right in this case, you are just using the charger that came with the truck correct?
If so max charging speed of that charger is 32 Amps, or about 7.6 kW/hr. The truck says it took on 66.5kW in just over 9 hours which is about 7.4kW/hr. Take into account some losses and...
Ford got out to a head start and then.... did nothing
They've fallen pretty far behind GM, for a while they were the leading legacy automaker in EVs, then they stopped innovating, and GM has completely blown them out of the water. Combine that with competition from Kia/Hyundai, Tesla, and...
I bought without a test drive, and before we bought the Rivian I bought a Mach-E without a test drive. Similar to you, I watch a lot of videos on YouTube and was comfortable buying without a test drive, but you're right videos aren't the same as driving. Overall, the vehicle is what I expected...
