'Affordable' seems to be the context that has me wondering if anyone wants to chase that small crowd. Not many people, depending on where you live, really care about EV's. An affordable EV is still usually more expensive than a comparably sized and equipped ICE vehicle.
Most people that I am...
That is what I believed they said they would do...focus on the parks and places people would end up where there isnt a charger. Part of that assumption was that, I believe, they figured EA and others would get you TO the entry of the off-road/adventure destination.
But I welcome one here in...
I find some irony in that an adventure brand has chargers in the mall.
Those curbs must be gnarly...haha!
But this is good! My wife may never see anything unpaved outside of a grass field.
I wouldnt call it anything but what it is. What powertrain was developed first and brought to market first? The enduro, even if it was originally the way Rivian wanted to go, was still not their first product.
I think the press release wasnt the issue. It was scrutinized by many people prior...
On your first part, the Quad is the oldest and therefore somewhat renders this point less effective.
No where did they explicitly limit or guarantee all powertrains would get differentiating software, though it's clear that hardware should limit some features.
I think the issue is, depending...
In response to those saying future software features were not promised, I'd push back on that some by saying it is something they (Rivian) have been saying is an advantage...ability to add and improve things with software.
How quickly did we forget all of the interviews RJ and his staff did...
Taking my response in another thread and adding to it:
Sunroof (instead of just glass roof...yes, I am one of the few who uses it)
inverted rear wiper (a la Range Rover)
non-electro mechanized door handles and charging port
Touch to open door handles (don't care for proximity stuff)...
Got one from Amazon a few weeks ago for much of the same reasons.
Though this is also tempting me if I can find someone to print it. https://www.printables.com/model/603064-rivian-key-fob
That is where our R1S will live (unless it can squeeze in the garage in the few times it may be necessary). Though we are only 1 month in, it's survived the Florida sun and rain. Only one live oak nearby which will bathe it in pollen but no branches and very few leaves.
Not specific to the R2, but could be applicable. (not in any order)

Just got my Rivian center caps and took off the aero covers off.
Though the more I look at this rim design, the more I think the dark gray areas need to be changed and keep the painted silver portions. Anyone done such a modification?
I shouldve been more considering when I didnt elect for one of the other wheel options. I was looking mainly at the range hit and since it's my wife's care, she didnt care for anything else. I also felt like I could buy a better aftermarket wheel than the options they had. Perhaps once these 21"...
Seems like there are hardly any adjacent sizes for the 21" wheel that equate to the same 32.9" diameter.
But if you go down an inch (32" total diameter; 275/50 R21) then we have more choices. Wonder if the possible reduction in weight (roughly 10lbs per tire) would offset the designed eco...
Didnt read all 18 pages but I didnt see any info on a USB-C powered unit. Just took delivery of a R1S and it doesnt have the 12v ports. I've seen where people have retrofitted one but I am not sure I am able to do that. We have an existing add-on Android Auto (and Carplay) screen but it is...
