Missing the point. of course you enter the destination before leaving, but Rivian uses free data set that’s called mapbox (I believe most other companies pay a license fee to Nokia for this map data) which Rivian did a sloppy integration of of the SDK resulting in incorrect destination...

This is also true, but I use mine hands free only (unless I am at a stoplight, which is also illegal). I already had one accident decades ago when trying to dial while driving.

Yes, it’s been illegal for years in California to use phone navigation unless 100% voice controlled. So yes, most people with Rivians have to break that law

Then allow people to state their experiences and not defend Rivian as perfect. Rivian told me they don’t red the forums (they are know to lie though), but people are experiencing issues and we should attempt to help scirn them if it’s a real issue or dissuade them as normal, not an issue.

It is required where I live to use your phone to navigate instead of the “navigation” thats built into the Rivian, agree with the author it is a safety issue it it’s not cost savings they are after, I believe it’s an ego problem

I talked to Rivian service and they said they have no other complaints of this but mine and offered to get me in at the next available appointment which is over 2 months away here in San Jose. My conclusions A: They are liars B: Rivian vehicles are great but warranty and service is dubious at best
