Bummer about your tire. How Rivian treats spares is one of the headscratchers.
I've got an R1S pre-order, but am seriously considering an extra full-size wheel/tire to bring on mountain trips. Just don't feel good about getting out of the backcountry on a donut.
By standard AT...
Colorado Rivian owners - what front license plate solution did you choose?
There's a thread on an adhesive option, I'm wondering about other options and how well they work (or don't work), especially now that at least some owners have had a chance to drive through a few seasons. (I'm an R1S...
Congrats on getting your R1S!
And, your experience is helpful to know for sure. Makes me think I'll hold off getting a mat until I've gone through a few snow storms with the R1S to see the effect.
The graphic / flow-chart in the article is pretty helpful. Importantly -- assuming it is correct -- the graphic includes the statement "at or below $80k" still qualifies for the credit. Turns out I'm at $80500 . . . including the $500 wall charger. So if I can order that separately, or if...
Thanks for the feedback. If I, or anyone else, does receive an R1S (or R1T) before March, would the old rules regarding no vehicle price cap still apply, i.e. a vehicle slightly north of $80k would still get the tax credit? Sorry for being dense, I'm just a little confused by the overlapping...
Well, blimey.
I thought I understood that the buyer's agreement (PBA) last fall had a fighting, though not guaranteed, chance of preserving the federal tax credit to those of us (myself including) whose R1S delivery date got bumped from 2020 to 2021 to two different dates in 2022 to now...
Thanks for blazing this trail. Good to know that it is at least possible to get another key fob. And agreed with @COdogman, it should not be that hard.
Hi All - I don't have my R1S, but like many others, am checking out peripherals as a (poor, unsatisfying) proxy as I wait for the real thing.
I live in CO. We get snow. Vehicles accumulate snow, which then melts in a garage. This has happened to me for a long time, and I've sighed and...
There's a parallel thread about amazon's slashing jobs related to Alexa:
https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/alexa-falling-out-of-favor-at-amazon-and-on-pace-for-10b-loss.10331/
I know some people report good experiences with Alexa in terms of home use, I'm in the...
Well. This is interesting. The current privacy policy is still in place:
https://rivian.com/legal/privacy
Though at the top there is a link to a new privacy policy that will go into effect on Nov 9:
https://rivian.com/legal/privacy-updated
The new policy is much longer. Still wading through...
I don't have a vehicle yet, so here are my arm chair observations.
In terms of glaring misses, an auto company should not release a vehicle that has risks to health a safety of its driver, passengers, or the surrounding general population -- be they other drivers, pedestrians, cyclists, mimes...
Does the Rivian charger need to be connected to wifi to work? or can it be just a "dumb" charger that just plugs in and delivers electrons to the vehicle according to the vehicle charging control s/w+electronics. Thanks in advance for feedback.
My reservation is for an R1S. I checked the R1S manual, but the manual doesn't show where the microphone is. Assuming the microphone is near the driver, the location is presumably common between the R1S and R1T. Any R1T owners know the location of the vehicle microphone? Thanks in advance.
Nothing like empirical observations to blow a hole in a theory! Thanks for the observation.
What may be happening in this case is that the roof is absorbing sunlight (uv, vis, IR) and reradiating. Some of that reradiation goes up, away from the vehicle, but some goes into the vehicle as well...
