I'm not so much worried about the trade in, more worried about what the running boards will do to impact the car ride or noise levels. There are a lot of helpful posts here from people who have done it, but the problem is some say they've had a great experience, others say that there might be a...
Thanks for this information. I finally got my R1S a week ago and I definitely want running boards, but between hearing all of these negative first impressions of running boards, and being a little fearful of cutting holes under the car, I'm a little reluctant to consider them. Has anyone (1)...
Yes I have the 20" ATs. Maybe that's the difference. When you are behind the wheel there's no doubt you're driving a truck because you feel it's heft, but it drives so much smoother and feels so much more solid than my Model X. Tesla puts a lot of money into tech and cheaps out on everything...
I agree that the Alexa navigation is glitchy. It definitely needs some work. I am hoping and expecting Rivian will figure it out in consultation with Amazon. My early Tesla Model 3 experience was horrible, but it improved greatly over time so I expect the same great things from Rivian as it...
I'm sure I'll get used to it. It's more about the passengers and my kids hopping in or out. Pain in the neck when they hop out and walk away, leaving me to deal with it. That's why I think soft-close doors would be good, although there have been some good points in this thread about additional...
You could be right that they are actually too light to close properly. Maybe that is it. For whatever reason you need to get a little more momentum going to get the door to close than other cars and trucks that I've driven. The doors might need some re-engineering to make them close more...
I believe that you are correct that Tesla developed the blind spot camera because people wanted something and there was no warning system so that was their work around (although the new Model 3 does now have both the warning system and the side view camera functionality) but I think it’s...
I agree that neither Tesla nor Rivian GPS is good for much. Waze would be better in both. Good news about the camera blind spot warning update in the future.
Google Maps is a good idea too, with Apple or Android Play integration at least you’d have the option of using Waze which is better than the basic Rivian GPS
I’ve been driving Teslas since 2017, first I started with one of the first Model 3s to hit the market and then later I graduated to a Model X. Before that I was driving PHEVs. First a Prius and then a Honda. So I’ve been in the electric car world for about 8 years and counting. I pre-ordered my...
