  1. "Owner Since" date info now displayed in Rivian Account 3/2026

Sweet, thanks for posting I didn't notice this info was shown now.
  2. What Actually Fails First in Real-World Rivian Ownership

Had a rear drive unit failure on my quad early in my ownership. Fixed under warranty, but had to limp back to my house and the truck was virtually undriveable after that, so it had to be towed to the service center. That was an eye opener and my first how expensive is that to fix when out of...
  3. Flat Tire on a 7,000+ lb EV: What’s Your Plan and Tools?

I start with good set of load range E tires. 10 Ply tread and 3 ply sidewall. I use a Power Mountain Tallboy Off-Road Bottle Jack on my Megawatt Rock Sliders. This gives me all the confidence I need lifting in any condition. Then I use my ARB Tire plug kit and on-board air to get back on the...
  4. Autonomy+ Poll: Will you be buying / subscribing to it?

I have a Gen1 R1T so I will pass until my next Rivian.
  5. Train Crossing Arm hit my car

Drive Cam to the rescue. Hopefully you have it enabled. I would go after the railroad company if it is clear on the drive cam that the arm fell on your vehicle after raising and the flashing lights / siren were off. However, if the lights were still flashing and the siren was still sounding...
  6. How to use your Rivian as a Power Bank (safe way)

I am very happy with my setup, very similar, but I use the Ecoflow Delta Pro Ultras. Works very well for my use. My DC converter is only adjustable up to 48V DC, but I like the higher voltage on the one you are using.
  7. RAD! Rivian Adventure Department officially launched! RAD R2, R1S, R1T unveiled

🤤 I was having a sh!ty day and this just brightened it up for me.
  8. Someone, talk me out of dumping my R1T

My Gen 1 R1T has been really great through 47,000 miles, but I do have similar concerns over long term reliability beyond the warranty period. I love the truck, so I am planning on hanging on to my Gen 1 and will add an extended warranty to help bridge the gap until Gen 3 is available.
  9. I have questions if any one has answers (potential R1T buyer)

    1. Absolutely Yes. 2. I have a family of 5 and my youngest son is disabled and in a wheel chair. Our experience has been great. My wife has a 2023 Grand Cherokee Summit Reserve and my family still prefers to take the Rivian most places. 3. More storage than you can even imagine. The frunk and...
  10. Rivian and CrunchLabs Announce Exclusive Partnership to Demystify and Spark Curiosity in EV Technology

My 21 year old son filled my in on the details last night. He has been a fan of Mark Rober since he was 13 or 14 years old. I started watching content with my son during covid and really liked how he explained the engineering process, showed his failures and subsequent modifications to achieve...
  11. Turning off My Wall Charger

That doesn't make any sense. My Rivian wall charger consumes virtually no power when not charing my R1T. I have it running through a smart home panel that monitors energy consumption and it shows zero watts currently.
  12. Tips for using Rivian as power bank for storm

I can run a well pump, welder, dryer, etc.. all from my delta pro ultra noted in my previous post.
  13. Tips for using Rivian as power bank for storm

I have two delta pro ultra units from ecoflow as well as the smart home panel. I had them installed two years ago prior to hurricane season and they performed flawlessly thought Hurricane Milton. I upgraded the system this past year to include the eco-worthy charger which can input 120v or...
  14. 👉 2026 Air Cruiser RTT – First Look (Rivian Fit)

Was just curious, I've had plenty of built in pumps fails, if that pump fails for some reason, having a standard paddle board air inlet/outlet port would be a great backup. My paddle board air compressor adapter fills my paddle board in about 2 mins, I set the R1T compressor to 13 psi and it...
  15. 👉 2026 Air Cruiser RTT – First Look (Rivian Fit)

Was able to squeeze in my reservation a few days ago, but I do have a question about the inflation port. I think I saw a standard paddle board inflation/deflation port on one video. I have an adapter that I use with my R1T air compressor to air up my paddle board. I assume that same paddle...
  16. I bricked my R1S in the Oregon Outback - Learn from my mistake!

We all make mistakes and learning how to explore remote places with an EV is certainly part of the adventure. I'll share my 2 cents worth of charging wisdom and limited charging options. I've shared this story on this forum before, but the short story is our hunting camp was without power for...
  17. How long do you plan to keep your current Rivian?

I am a tightwad and don't believe in throwing away money at depreciable assets every few years, so my 2022 Gen1 R1T will be hanging around for a while. I plan on getting at least 8 years, hopefully 10 years or more depending on how well it holds up. Just completed my 45,000 mile checkup last...
  18. Recall: Rear Toe‑Link Bolts Replacement (affects 19,641 R1 vehicles)

My 22 R1T is in for a 45K check up and they added it to my ticket automatically.
  19. R2 Service Loaner?

Got a Gen2 R1S today as a loaner when I dropped off my Gen1 R1T for service. I would be fine with any Rivian vehicle as a loaner. Not sure why anyone would be that picky, any Rivian loaner is way better than any ICE vehicle you might get from Enterprise.
  20. Drive Mode Question: any particular reason not to just stay in conserve?

In my driving experience, the difference between all-purpose and conserve is negligible with 20" A/Ts. So it stays in all-purpose. In fact, I think it is better in all purpose for day to day stuff around town. I might use conserve on a long trip with a lot of highway driving and multiple stops...
