Have this same issue.
So Rivian has known about this issue for almost a month now and hasn't fixed it? That's the kinda stuff that will make people consider buying a different vehicle next time. Like others have said, this isn't like it's a small music or quality of life issue. This has to do...
Backup to heat pump on the Model Y is running the motors in a way that creates heat like my R1T does to heat the battery pack when it needs to. So yes, kind of like resistive backup for the heat pump.
Anyone know when the R1 gen2 goes from air source to back up heat on their heat pump? My Model...
I agree, the average heat pump should be 3 to 4X more efficient than resistive depending on ambient temps. But as mentioned, maybe vehicle heat pumps have to have different designs which would limit it closer to 2X.
FWIW, I have an extremely efficient cold weather mini split at home that can do...
If you haven't noticed there are definitely some elements of Tesla inside Rivian and that leads them to be overly promotional at times and talk about things way way before they are ever close to fruition. Tech bros be tech bros I guess.
This is absolutely unequivocally false. If you don't have antilock brakes on your regen braking then you need to take it into service. This has been tested by my vehicle as well as many others that antilock works even if you don't touch the brake pedal when the vehicle is sliding.
FWIW, myself and lots of others on here haven't seen any tire anomalies driving in low and very low. Don't get me wrong, those modes combined with aggressive driving will give you more wear. But if you drive more conservative than most it is absolutely fine to go lower suspension.
Good news: Vampire Drain down to near 0%
Bad news: It's because the vehicle is bricked.
12V went out and totally dead. Assume I'll be getting a new one and if so, will that help my VD?
Mine just got bricked a few days ago as well. Thankfully the app gave me a warning (I was 500 miles away) and I got a mobile appointment set up ASAP. Definitely dead as a door nail when I got home but I have a very very flexible job and we have another vehicle too. Disappointing for sure but I...
Gotcha, I should have realized you were in a place with relatively similar temps. So ingrained in me as a Midwesterner to think triple digits in summer and negative temps in winter.
Also have used ZEF some. For those not in the know, at least part of the sketchiness is that they immediately charge your card $50 the minute you "try" to start up a charge. This is just a hold obviously but still...sketchy.
Awesome stats and impressive work keeping all this data!
Curious if there is any way to standardize for variables such as ambient temperature that would definitely impact the phantom drain.
Good on them for improving this. They obviously realized it was using a ton of energy for very little gain. Could have also been a negative for the motors long term.
So glad they moved the temp down to what they need to heat the battery to. Was getting just horrible efficiency around town last year. So much better now.
