Now that I obsess about miles per kWh, I drive 70mph or less.
Caveat: most of the driving is done by my wife during the week shuttling our kid across Seattle twice a day to and from school. She spends 0% of her brain cycles obsessing about efficiency. I'm not sure she knows what I'm even...
This is the greatest post of all time! Thank you for doing all this. I’ve used my ears and made tweaks, but I’m really excited to try this based on actual metering data.
Well freakin’ done!
I put Nokian One H/T LT275/65R-20 in my R1S immediately after I bought.
I don’t need off road and think 20” rims look better. More proportionate with the size of the rig. I also wanted to improve efficiency with road tread.
I’ve been real happy with them. Mostly highway / road with a little...
Alright, alright. I'm not complaining. (Gotta be careful what you say around here).
I think the current Soft ride feel and drive is nice. Just wouldn't mind another setting to handle some really rough roads 'round here, but not in exchange for terrible handling.
I'm super stoked about the Quick Controls. I'm hoping that there's lots of available shortcuts that I can customize in my quick access panel I can swipe out from the left. And I hope they're big old buttons that I can hit easily without having to look to hard.
The ride feel settings sound...
Yeah, I’m a full on idiot. I didn’t know how to engage driver+. I thought it was simply the “lane keeping assist” buried in the menu system.
I got the car without any training and didn’t rtfm.
I finally discovered the double tap down on the stalk on mapped highways only, to enable the “highway...
Okay, I feel pretty dumb.
I just discovered Highway Assist.
I've been staring at the Highway Assist icon that appears wondering what it meant. Then, trying to figure out what you were saying above, I finally tried pushing the stalk down twice like a "double click."
And blammo: Highway Assist...
You’re saying one up on the right stalk disables driver+ and two up on it disables ACC?
omg I need to revisit this. I’m so psyched if I’m just doing it wrong.
That disables adaptive cruise control but not lane keeping assist. Unless I'm mistaken here, lane keeping assist inside the Driver+ feature is always active once turned on. You can only disable it by diving into the menu.
I hope I'm wrong here.
This thread explains why I want a fast way on the steering wheel to enable and disable lane keeping assist.
Unless I’m missing something, disabling lane keeping assist requires three taps, a scroll and another tap. It’s dangerous and not helpful when you encounter construction or funny lines in...
After installing the seat back covers and having them fall off, I'm no longer recommending them. I like LinerX floor and cargo mats. The seat back covers are meh.
I could redo the velcro tape and add more. I'm frustrated with applying sticky glue to the carpet which is very hard to get off and...
Also, please make the right side wheel control on the steering wheel toggle lane keeping assist on and off when pushed. I'm not sure what pressing in the wheel button does currently. I need the ability to disable lane keeping assist quickly when entering a construction zone or other situation...
I would like to see the driver display have more information. There's tons of unused space. I don't really get the value of having the middle vehicle image showing me icons of pedestrians on the sidewalk. I can see that out the window.
Please surface gauges and other information to the driver...
To be fair, I only use my phone as a key. The only issue I have is when ending my drive and getting out. Only my driver door unlocks, so I’m fussing with the phone to get my son out of his car seat.
I could just remember to hit the unlock on the screen.
I have proximity lock on “all doors” so...
Enjoyable read, though I admit I skipped a few sentences here and there. :)
I’m the bougie BMW owner mixed with an EV enthusiast and my wife is a Landcruiser girl who only wants to drives tanks twice as big of other cars on the road.
The R1S is our match made in heaven
I was disappointed in...
I'm using LinerX all-weather mats in my R1S.
Pretty happy with them. Better coverage of the floors than the Rivian-branded mats which don't extend wide enough to cover the entire carpeted area.
I got the cargo liner and seat back protectors from them as well. Decent, for sure. Seat-back pieces...
