I was going to walk across the street to my neighbors and find out how to take it out, but it looks like you figured it out. He has a Rivian test vehicle we could practice on ;) Now we need a file. I have 4 printers, but no 3d scanner and drawing it may take a little longer than I want to...
I'll agree with you, that the Rivian 2nd row is not the easiest to get in to and the third is even worse. But... I'm happy with the shorter wheel base. Not everyone needs a land yacht, like the endless Suburbans, Expeditions and EXT Escalades rolling around. Plus, being able to fit the R1S...
He's calling REV 2 test vehicles the camo wrapped vehicles that were being tested out in public for hot / cold climate testing. He just left yesterday to help bring back some test vehicles, that he hopes will be converted to employee take home vehicles... Besides testing, he really hasn't had...
They have been selling Rivians since 2022 and the values haven't fallen off a cliff like everyone predicted. They are still desirable and the new R2's lower price will help them get into the hands of more drivers. I use the real world indicator, which means I base how desirable a car is, by...
Another confirmation from a test engineer at Rivian (my neighbor). As of the Rev. 2 test vehicles they have been testing, the R1 crossbars do not fit the mounting pattern and will not physically go on. They tried them, thinking they would fit and it was a no go. He has no clue why they would...
I just realized you are talking about the R1S rear hatch. I checked mine and it is coming lose in the center. It appears it was attached using 3M heavy duty double sided tape from the factory. Ill most likely reply using the same tape or use the 3M weather strip adhesive.
Rivian will replace it if you put in a service ticket... or you can get some 3M black weatherstrip adhesive and glue it yourself. Its one of those... how fast do you need it fixed situations.
Also... I didnt go outside to look at my neighbors R1T (I have an R1S), but I cant figure out which...
The short answer... if they promised you a loaner, then they should probably get you one. But... all this time, I never saw a contract where they said they would provide a loaner or rental car when a vehicle was in for service. They just kinda gave them out as a curtesy. Unfortunately...
Looks like a fairly new Corolla.... I'm surprised she didn't have at least liability on it. At least you are okay, she didn't try to run (I'm sure that truck would have chased her down) and the damage looks like it is only partially "totaled" ... :CWL: :CWL::CWL:
Having an affordable alternative to the R1 isn't all about initial purchase price.... Cost of ownership is something else that needs to be considered. If you paid $55K for a R2, because you couldn't get yourself to part with $100k, then get slapped with $2000 tire bill after 20,000 miles, I...
- Camp Speaker, used it once by the pool when I couldn't get the outdoor sound system to work. Never really used it again.
- Torch, I can't count how many times I used my cellphone flashlight, dropped my phone, fumbled around trying to get enough light, then remembered about the Torch after I...
This is one of those instances in life where if I was the customer service rep on the phone with you, I would just ask for your Venmo (which I'm guessing you wouldn't give) and pay you out of my own pocket, so I could move on with life. Serviously, you think the world would be right if the nice...
I ended up talking to my Rivian employee neighbor a few days ago regarding the R2. Rivian is initially allowing 1600 employees to take advantage of getting their R2 at the release of the vehicle. He was not one of the 1600 employees selected. He did say that any employee that gets one agrees...
