  1. Just locked-in the R1T MaxPack for delivery. Will it be the first Max north of the border ;-)

Since they asked me to confirm my address for shipping, I am wondering if that's what it means also? Hopefully, I'll be getting a timeline email within a week or so. Gives me time to plan the install location for the new charger, except my electrician ( kid ) is going to be away for a potential...
  2. R1T v Cybertruck side by side real life photos

The DMC DeLorean de-evolved and jacked up in the air. I'll pass.
  3. Just locked-in the R1T MaxPack for delivery. Will it be the first Max north of the border ;-)

Quite a surprise to get the lock-in email today. Maybe that means my delivery will be in advance of the Dec/Jan date projected a while ago. Hoping so at this point. I almost started messing with my colour and wheels, but stuck to the plan more or less ;-) Sounds like the charger is going to...
  4. 21's vs. 22's tires & wheels -- differences observed from swap (Michelin Defender EV tires)

When you did the swap, did you need to reprogram the truck or did the service center do that for you?
  5. Dual Motor Max Pack more efficient than Dual Motor Large Pack?

It's all just numbers on paper until there is a reasonable sampling of forum members with maxpacks out on the road and reporting back.
  6. Max Pack Battery Capacity Confirmed - 149kWh

I'd like to see Munro dissect the battery to see what it actually is. Least they could do, is give the maxpack holders more drive modes considering the cost vs minimal range improvement.
  7. Max Pack Battery Capacity Confirmed - 149kWh

I was hoping for more in that they were under-promising and over delivering. When I roughly calculated the range vs kWh I guessed it was 155 kWh. This is even less :( 149 kWh Let's see what happens when forum members hit the road with the MaxPack and see where the real-world range results...
  8. Gas Prices in your province (2.14/litre BC here) - Hurry up Maxpack!!

Yesterday I caught myself staring at my gas gauge a few times. Even though my current commute is pretty short, I find I am itching for the Max pack delivery as the prices took a big jump again. Best decision we made was getting the little Kona EV in the meantime while we were waiting. It's kind...
  9. Montreal Service Centre in the Works?

I'd guess they are pushing for sooner, than later. With production ramping up it would be prudent to fast track service centres in major metropolitan areas.
  10. Dog triggering cabin lights?

Never mind turning on the lights, I want my dog to be able to drive the R1 ;-) He can take himself to the groomer and vet.
  11. MAX PACK Dual Motor Performance is delivering!

It's cool if they are indeed delivering, and I'll be interested to get real-world feedback from Rivian owners. Any battery issues, charging and actual range numbers. I'm sure the first few range numbers will be warm and fuzzy and a little embellished, but after a month or so Should be getting...
  12. Wow a $41k dent (quoted for bedside replacement). Saved by PDR paintless dent removal repair

Pretty slick. I did my vintage westinghouse fridge in a similar way but those guys definitely amped it up. Well done!
  13. Jeep Wagoneer S / 400 mile range / 0-60 in 3.5 seconds

After renting 2 dodge trucks for a week each, this summer, it will ultimately boil down to how the OS performs. In the Cummins diesel that I rented to tow my boat I really liked the U-Connect 5, 12" screen and wireless apple carplay interface along with the truck cameras, trailering cameras etc...
  14. Interesting Journey in R1T to Canada's far North with dangerous fires and minimal charging infrastructure

Yes once you get away from well traveled areas up here the charging infrastructure is sketchy at best, adding to that the fact that chargers have a very high percentage of under-performing or non-operational chargers.
  15. Frunk Heat

You can actually buy an R1 frunk-mounted pizza stone in the gear shop. Right next to the camp kitchen. Doesn't slide out though, and you have to drive around a lot to make it work.
  16. What would you want to see in Rivian's R1 Summer 2024 updates?

"Joystick" on the steering wheel to scroll/jump between screen options/icons without taking our hands off the wheel while driving. Better in cab ergonomics, cup holders, wireless charger, storage, glove box, wireless carplay AKA check out the other big 3 pickups for queues. Eliminate the...
  17. Cybertruck wheel cover flies off in traffic

This is an automatic feature designed to shed-weight as the vehicle approaches highway speeds. Auto-pilot/self-driving engaged model 3's go around and collect the discharged hubcaps for reinstallation at a later time.
  18. Lifted Rivian R1T on lift kit and 38s!! + Drag Race vs. Ram TRX

A normal evolution of a vehicle when it is adopted by the mainstream and then aftermarket companies start embracing it enough to offer accessories and modifications. I'm quite sure many R1T off-roaders would embrace a well designed front and maybe rear winch bumper, as well as protection for...
  19. A couple vehicles from the Fully Charged EV Expo today

Without driving it, I thought the Polestar 3 was most impressive. The interior also was super polished compared to most of the competitors. I think they stated 2 month delivery wait approximately. I liked the BMW SUV styling, but the interior felt gaudy and I didn't care for the...
  20. EV Sportline Running Boards Rusting after 2 Months

Maybe chat with the supplier. Could be a defective paint batch, or powder coating. They look pretty simple to make though, since I can weld stainless, maybe I'll look at making my own :)
