  1. $59 phone charging solution

if I drive the vehicle, it will definitely slide around!!
  2. Broken Suspension on R1T ? during PNW Rivian group trip: WA BDR.

I see so many issues of different types. In a way the early adopters are beta testers. I wonder how fast would Rivian be able to act on these issues from customers to fix future vehicles to prevent the same problems from happening. Are we talking months or years? I expect my R1S by mid to end of...
  3. Show off your Level 2 Home Charger installs here

If you need to charge two EVs but are limited to just a single 40 or 50 amp line (to prevent much higher costs), I hightly recommend the clipper creek dual chargers. These are dumb chargers and don’t rely on Wi-Fi or other more sophisticated (and potentially error prone) mechanisms to distribute...
  4. Rivian R1T Powers Patient’s Vasectomy After Clinic Power Outage

Came in just for the comments. Wasn’t disappointed.
  5. Tesla Raises Prices

If the Rivian costs $80K, to me the right price of the model X should be $70K or if Elon insists he can discount it to $69,420.
  6. Tesla Raises Prices

I don’t see too many buying model X or even S once R1S becomes mainstream.
  7. Rivian have HEPA filters?

That’s the reason the Tesla Hepa filters are huge. Not sure though how many pounds of activated charcoal in them.

Pretty obvious outcome. She needs to go on a diet.
  9. R1T vs R1S speakers & audio systems compared (from Meridian site)

Adding to my previous post, wondering what “Tonally balanced audio at all volume levels” could mean. perhaps something equivalent to Audyssey Dynamic EQ as in increased bass boost at lower volumes and then ease off the base at higher volumes. Again, not something that cannot be tested with REW...
  10. R1T vs R1S speakers & audio systems compared (from Meridian site)

Interesting to see RE-Q. I’m supposing this is the car equivalent to room eq like what Audyssey or Dirac does or for that matter what you could do with REW, MiniDSP and a calibrated mic like umik. Will be interesting to run a few tests to check frequency response in the drivers seat and some of...
  11. Wireless charging pad useless. Any changes imminent?

Real question is if it flies backwards when you hit the accelerator
  12. Wireless charging pad useless. Any changes imminent?

No, but when I drove it recently I tried charging my iPhone on the wireless charging tray and it did not charge the phone. At that time I did not think much about it as I thought that maybe there is a setting to turn it on. seeing this thread made be suspicious that perhaps the whole thing is...
  13. Matte or clear screen protector??

I guess the screen protector could also protect the screen from cracking in case of a crash. /s
  14. 80 Feet run for AWG 6/3 wire

Not just the gauge but the material also matters. Copper is preferable to Aluminum. Also insulation material of the wire matters, even more if you are in a region where it becomes hot in the summers. I remember doing this research several years back by reading the NEC code.
  15. Video: Met the Rivian R1S... at Venice Hub Event

Why do I feel that the third row space is very cramped? I mean if the foot needs to go under the second row seat and then you cannot simply slide your foot back to lift it up, then that’s cramped by my definition. In other words having less than one foot of floor space from the front bottom of...

Be careful though. 60 degrees is cool not cold enough to prevent food decay. Per FDA guidelines store perishable food like dairy under 40 degrees.
