Most likely you (or someone) reset the trip meter but not fully. You have to reset it multiple times or it just 0s out the mileage and not the energy used, or that used to be the case at least.
Many of us early owners bought without a test drive. Personally I'd go drive one and be sure if it meant driving a few hours, maybe rent one for a day on Turo?
I have TOU rates in the Portland OR vicinity with PGE. It's like 0.04/kWh from 10pm to 6am but sadly it is going away at the end of the year.
To be replace by a not as good 'time of day' pricing that is 0.08/kWh overnight but a whopping 0.41/kWh between 5pm and 9pm, sadly the hours I am not...
I wouldn't worry about it. I am sure Rivian will fill as many tri-motor orders this year as it can.
Those $105-110k builds likely bring higher margins for Rivian.
He's busy running the Portland Rivian Club. I saw him and his lovely truck a few weeks ago when we did a clean up on the Columbia River Highway.
I think he is more active on other platforms.. maybe...
I know @LivingInKaos was considering such an approach. I would argue though that Rivian should just make it easier.
FWIW most folks with camper shells should have 12V power available, at least I do to run lights, fans, etc in the bed.
For all of you hoping to tap the brake lights somehow, it's very complicated. The left/right tail light (at least in my truck, usual YMMV) had 4 lines that appeared to be ground, always on power (when the truck is awake), and two signal wires.
Only solution to getting an 'operable' brake light...
This is not correct. If you pay a lease early you do not have to pay the whole rent payment. This has been discussed in detail in multiple threads. If you buy out soon after lease you will pay $5-6k less. You don't get the full $7500 discount due to extra fees from leasing (ie acquisition...
pretty sure always on/ambience. Not surprised they couldn't figure out brake lights, it's incredibly complicated. There is no way to just tap into the brake light, it's just a power, ground and signal.
Too bad Rivian hasn't come forward with a solution like they said they would.
It would be...
Spot on! 300W of solar on the roof of my camper is barely enough to run my fridge, lights, fan etc in my camper in full sun.
I argue that charging the traction battery with this type of technology would be net negative.. ie the amount of energy required to keep the truck on, condition the...
No not a safety issue. Automakers are free to choose whichever software they want to control all of the screens as long as they meet whatever requirement NHTSA have.
Don't get me started on the silly arguments the justice department made in that antitrust suit again Apple, doesn't hold any...
