This sounds like a good deal to me. You will have many more options in the future moving to the 20s. Also, you are between a rock and a hard place right now with a blown tire and the vehicle towed to the service center. I recommend you accept Rivian's offer.
Good luck!!
Thanks for the update!
Fortunately, I'm able to avoid the high prices at the Transit Center. I easily have enough juice to get from Del Norte to Cortez. I just want to stop at the Durango RAN to support Rivian, and because RAN stations are always the most trouble-free, and fast charging stops...
I'm back in that area a fair amount but had never heard of this location. I can't find "Fourmile Recreation Area" on the googles. I do see a Fourmile Campground. Is that the same thing?
Great pictures and great advice!
I'll be driving through Durango on Sunday Jul 20. This RAN is not yet showing up on the onboard nav, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
My return leg is on Jul 26, the day after the REI opening, so I still might get to charge there.
I can only speak to my experience. Both A2Z products and customer service have been outstanding. When they initiated a voluntary recall of their first generation adapter out of an abundance of caution, it took less than 24 hours to have my application and proof of purchase reviewed. I had my...
I debated posting this in Laugh of the Day, because, sadly, a perfectly good wood chipper met it's demise. (Standing by for the obligatory "that'll buff right out" comments)

That sound is not normal. It may be suspension related. I suggest you raise the safety flag and try to get your appointment moved up to July.
I also have popping noises on rapid acceleration. But in my case, it's my spine. 😀
As to your specific question: We had an early 2016 Model X that was traded in for our Gen 1 R1S and still have a 2018 Model 3. So I can't speak to the new refreshed Tesla technology, just that of our two Teslas.
At delivery, our R1S was superior in fit and finish, drive quality, and interior...

I got their name from someone else on this forum, so they have good experience with Rivians. They didn't disappoint.

I got pummeled by hail plus 30 to 40 mph crosswinds on I-70 in Kansas last year. The car looked like a golf ball with a dent count over 150. Visibility was zero so everyone was stopped on the shoulder, but there were no overpasses for cover.
A paintless dent repair company in Colorado Springs...
I have a great deal of empathy for you. If this were my situation, I would justifiably be angry and discouraged. My advice, which isn't worth a worth much, would be to give Rivian a chance to make it right for you. When you get a working R1T back, and start driving it, I believe you won't...
So I finally had a chance for a long term test. Here are the parameters and results:
1. Vehicle: Gen 1, large batt R1S. Car in garage with gear guard off, HVAC off, and NOT in shipping mode. Temps were between 70 and 80 deg F. Did not wake up car via the app during the test.
2. NOCO Genius 2, 2...
I had this issue in all my vehicles for the past 6 years. Oddly it disappeared when my teen boys moved away.
Thanks for the heads up on this issue. I rarely lift the floor mats but need start checking them on a regular basis.
@Ckwest , it sounds like you already got a negative response from CA Parks, but I wonder if you were asking the right question. We've camped in CO, NM, AZ, and SD. Almost all state and national parks ban "cars" from RV-only sites. We always look for a tent site with either 50 A or 30A electrical...
