  1. Rivian NACS Adapters begin arriving!

Forgot to provide my update - the adapter arrived Monday. Here are the full history and details: '23 R1T VIN 173XX Delivered 3/24/23 e-mail for opt-in received and responded to 4/4/24 e-mail confirming NACS delivery address received and responded to 9/10/24 NACS received 9/23/2024 (almost...
  2. Best (and quickest) Weight Distribution Hitch plus a towing question

Additional FYI - Rivians rated towing capacity is based on having a WDH. Otherwise it gets de-rated by half. I pull a 25FBT Trade Wind which is right around 8K with my gear and use the Equalizer WDH which Airstream recommended and installed for me. I can decouple or decouple in a few minutes...
  3. A2Z EV DC | NACS Extension Cord | 6-9 FT (2-3 meters) - Coming Soon

Genuinely curious here - how is the extension any less safe than additional cabling within a vehicle to move the charging port somewhere else? In other words, if Rivian moved its port to be compatible with Tesla’s location, wouldn’t that involve using additional cabling within the vehicle? That...
  4. NY Vehicle Inspection

State inspection centers are required to provide the service to all vehicles. This is why Rivian and Tesla service centers don’t do inspections - they don’t service anything but their own.
  5. Broken / cracked roof glass

You didn't loan your Rivian to Kim Java did you? Seriously though, it's pretty clear that the glass roof has some issues - not saying it's everyone, but there's been more than a few of these no-impact cracks that have been reported and Rivian plays hardball when you try and get it fixed under...
  6. NY Vehicle Inspection

Anyplace that does NYS inspections should be able to do it - most places won't put it on a lift to pull a wheel for the brake inspection, but if they do, make sure they have appropriate equipment (pucks) for the Rivian lift points or you provide it for them to use. There are three shops I use...
  7. Next Batch of NACS Adapters Shipping to Rivian Owners!

Hang tight - I think they're still on February '23 at this point.
  8. R1T charger door is not auto closing after charging

I remember Chop Chop - good times. a bunch of people complained about their fingers getting caught by the overzealous auto close and a software update took it away completely instead of tweaking it. *shrug*
  9. First Time using Roadside assistance

The gouging probably came from the spare carrier rod that has to be removed before you take the spare out or put it back in to the storage compartment. The center cap might still be on the original wheel - the spare doesn’t come with one. In any event, Rivian needs to make this right. Sucks...
  10. Dent on rear quarter panel - is this a candidate for PDR?

Will do, for sure. And it is funny, but fortunately it's not really FUBAR - not yet anyway, we'll see if they can't fix it, then maybe.
  11. Dent on rear quarter panel - is this a candidate for PDR?

Another PDR expert said it would be a glue pull as there is no access to that section and it would have to be a glue pull and would depend on how good he could get it glue pulling and how much time it takes - could spend 3 hours, or might have to spend 10. "There is no cut and dry price for this...
  12. Dent on rear quarter panel - is this a candidate for PDR?

Thanks all - I reached out to a local PDR specialist and was given an estimate just over $1,000 to take care of the dent. They said they'd have to remove the bumper to get to that area. I'll try and get some additional quotes.
  13. Dent on rear quarter panel - is this a candidate for PDR?

Backed my R1T into a pole that had a tightening knob sticking out of it and it pushed right into the area right next to the tailgate: Any Paintless Dent Repair experts here have an opinion or experience with this type of dent and location on the R1T? As far as I can tell, the only way to...
  14. Locked out - Truck won't respond

Perhaps a software update that provides cabin overheat protection would prevent these types of situations (if, indeed, this is a situation).
  15. Locked out - Truck won't respond

OK, few hours later and the sun has set, cabin temperature is down 45 degrees to 80 and it's responding again. Coincidence perhaps, but the temperature situation was similar the last time this happened to me.
  16. Locked out - Truck won't respond

Well how's that for a coincidence - it happened again today. Hasn't been a problem for over a year and here we are again. Common thread between the two events is that it's hot as balls out there and the interior was over 125 degrees in both cases. Gonna let it cool down and see if it comes back...
  17. Locked out - Truck won't respond

OP here. Rivian did confirm back then that it was not a related event and none of my access key cards worked either whereas the outage that happened earlier did allow the cards to work.
  18. Locked out - Truck won't respond

No updates other than it never happened again after that one occurrence. Thank goodness. Glad yours sorted itself out as well.
  19. R2 Charge Port Location is Moving to Driver's Side Rear (on Production Model)! - Confirms Rivian VP

Agree - to be sure, the real long term solution is we need better charging infrastructure that allows for pull-thru charging similar to Gas Station pump islands today. I pull a 26 foot travel trailer and even though I could technically pull forward into a regular parking stall and charge with...
