Maybe I can snag that tonneau before they return it.
good to see pretty much all positivity around the R1T. I am almost a mirror of them, 14 months and 26k miles. Tons of successful road trips, nearly all positive experiences.
Nice, that sounds like a great astro lens. I am using a wide angle f/4 on an APS-C sensor so definitely not the technical capability, but I get alright shots.
It could be, but also sometimes when a plane has lights that turn on and off in a long exposure (this was about 20s) it looks like a...
Nice, what kind of lens are you using? I sometimes struggle to get that many stars without any movement. RMNP is always a great trip!
I don’t have any Astro specific lenses yet but it is a fun style of photography. Here is one from a couple hours south:
Ok has anyone else had sand mode legitimately do something like this? I’ve only used it once, I was bypassing a stuck rental car on a sandy trail over a sand dune, and it was like lurching over it as I held the pedal at a constant level.
Nah, 300 miles covers my trips pretty well. If Rivian called me and said "we really like the scratches on your truck, we'll trade you for a max pack", then... probably. My tonneau hasn't worked for a long time anyway. But not worth the cost for me to upgrade.
Cameras to see your tires while off-roading, auto-leveling for rooftop tents or sleeping in the SUV, air compressor built in, you can keep the lights and sounds off with camp mode to not disturb nearby campers, very good approach/departure angles, accessible power in the bed, built in gear lock...
There are a ton. RV Campgrounds aren't my favorite place to stay, but they are currently my preferred way to visit Moab... a few hotels with chargers as well.
Nice photos OP
Probably a popular one, but physical HVAC controls. Don’t love hunting the screen to adjust everything, don’t love the vent adjustment, i almost still have to look at the angle of the vent to see where it’s going. Passengers in the back are not used to the controls either and are always confused.
Last summer we had to drive out a few people from Medano pass where some of the deep mud holes and swamped their alternator and the Land Cruiser was dead. We found them hiking out and drove them to salida. Also pulled out some people stuck in their rentals in the deep sand near the dunes.
cool...
lol I heard when you press the button its just a Rivian intern that comes to your truck and removes the panels and stores them in your gear tunnel now. Human powered tonneau. that's what RJ told me
I'm curious about this as well. Come on, no one has banged up the bottom?! No replaced batteries from rock impact?
I do not have the underbody shield. I have a few scratches on the panels on the bottom but definitely nothing severe. When I spoke with my guide back in the very early days of...
It depends on quickly you need or want to charge at home. I charge at 40A on my wallbox , so it is about 9kW. ~125kWh battery pack / 9kW = 14 hours for a 0-100% charge. It is very rare (i.e. has never happened) where I arrived home with 0% and needed to be at 100% within 14 hours.
Rivians can...
Yeah, would have preferred they stopped making poor decisions once it ran out of juice. "They told us to turn off the seat ventilation, so we kept everything on to drain the 12v battery".
...
Sounds like a pain in the butt. But also seems easy enough to not end up in the situation that you need...
