I just got my guide my last night as well and emailed her. Got the VIN and my 8-step this morning. My guide actually proactively asked me (via email) if I wanted the spare this morning. I thought I had it configured, but it didn't show up when I was asked to confirm configuration online. Anyway...
Count me in as another who switched wheels from 20s to 21s (last Thursday) and received a quick guide assignment (yesterday). They clearly have some 20s, as there still are deliveries happening with them, but it seems like there is enough evidence to suggest that 21s will get your name called...
I wonder what changing configurations will do at this point? I got moved to Oct-Nov from the original Oct-Dec grouping. Is it just me, or are a lot of the 21 inch wheel configs getting the Sept-Oct grouping?
There is more to this story. See the thread here.
The OP has an LE pre-order as well as the Adventure (post price increase) pre-order and already had a guide assigned from the LE pre-order. For some reason, the OP chose to switch the LE reservation to an R1S with OC (and the Adventure order to...
I'm assuming that Rivian is well aware of the LA Silver paint issues at this point. Did you by chance hear anything from them on whether they are working on fixing this at the factory yet? I haven't seen many reports of people taking delivery on LA Silver trucks recently, so wondering if perhaps...
Agreed that there have been reports of this, but they are very few and far between across thousands (10s of thousands?) of orders since the price hike. The odds are much better that this was attributable to you already having a guide than just some random lottery ball selection.
Still - seems...
Pretty sure this is the #1 driver for what happened for you here. It might have been nice if you had specified that up front. Until this post, that (very important) fact wasn't obvious. Once you have a guide assigned, anything is possible.
I see you are getting an Adventure even though you ordered in 2019. Were you perhaps originally a Max Pack or Explore configuration (hence no LE)? If so, I think that puts you in a totally different part of the flowchart. Lots and lots of First Mile test drives in Dallas in the last two months -...
This is super interesting, and makes a lot of sense to me. It it logical that Rivian would ideally want anyone getting a vehicle to have already seen/driven it first. I know there are people who have not and have still received a vehicle, but I would bet the very large majority of folks who...
In Dallas, it was based on both pre-order date and general location - it seems like they prioritized LE pre-order holders, then rolled it out to others grouped by general location a few weeks later. Probably something similar in Houston. Get excited! The test drive was awesome!
Had my first mile test drive this morning! It sounds like they have two trucks that they are using for the first mile drives - a LG on 20s and a LA Silver on 22s. I got the LA Silver on 22s. Sounds like the Rivian employee is doing a few more today in Allen, and one in Frisco - so definitely...
Great info, thanks! Sounds like this will be a semi-permanent thing with First Mile drives in the Dallas area, which is way better than bringing a truck for a few weeks and then moving on.
Congrats! Should be a good day - I'm pumped. I have the 9am, so I'll try to keep it clean for you :)
I'm assuming they are only using one vehicle for these, but I could be wrong.
Just got my Dallas First Mile invite today for 4/27. Glad to see they are still rolling out.
For reference - I reserved in early July 2021, R1T Adventure Package, anticipated delivery Oct-Dec 2022.
From CS: "Invitations going to preorder holders being prioritized based on their location, preorder date, and location. Rest assured, more invitations will be going out so I would definitely keep a close eye on your email!"
Full disclosure - I didn't read all 18 pages of comments, so apologies if this has already been addressed. But are we sure that this isn't Rivian's low-key and totally legal approximation of a big bath? When there is a prevalence of bad news (which was already going to be the case with the...
Congrats! I'm in the Dallas area, but in a later window. Great to hear that the seemingly slow progress on the Dallas service center isn't holding things up in the area.
