Since I think the OBD2 port only connects to 1 battery, you should only need to connect to one battery (the "primary" closer to the driver side) to the trickle charger. I might test it out, but can't do it this weekend.

Anyone else have this issue from Costco with the Michelin Defender 22? I'm scheduled to get mine mounted this Sunday (through Costco) and wondering if I should cancel/return the tires.

If charging via OBD2 port works, couldn't those of us with a 12v cigarette port under the dash use that to charge a battery while the car is running, and then use that battery to charge the 12v while the car is sleeping? Should be simple to make a self-contained unit -- and I don't think solar...

Are there any aftermarket lead acid batteries that will fit the Rivian? I heard they were basically power sports batteries, but can't find find any with the same dimensions 7.1''Lx3''Wx7.4''H. $822 for new batteries is a little over-the-top.

I wonder how performance compares with the Trail Terrain, which was recently released for 22''. I've been looking at the Trail Terrain because it's available from Costco and I'm lazy about looking for a new tire place (no Discount Tire in the Northeast).

They make a hood solar panel for the R1 that looks interesting. I've thought about getting one, but didn't want to be the guinea pig on this one. I haven't seen anyone with it for the R1, but a few ICE folks have been positive about it...

I think the idea is that since the computers have 500-1000w of overhead, having the 12v charging only while the car is already in use saves the overhead used when charging at night.
