  1. 30 amp campground charging question

I didn’t run into any issues using it at all bunch of different state park campgrounds.
  2. 30 amp campground charging question

This is what I used. Just remember to adjust down to 24amps on the charging screen before plugging in. https://www.amazon.com/Parkworld-885378C-Adapter-TT-30P-14-50R/dp/B07MD41D45
  3. As you might have guessed.... higher gas prices has increased interest in EVs [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Meanwhile people here are driving bloated electron guzzling SUVs. It’s hard to argue against an inefficient ICE SUV when a R1S is oversized for 90% of buyers and inefficient as well.
  4. Starlink Mini Fire Sale ($199) -- My experience with the service

It’s pretty obvious on more than one page of their website. Nothing illegal or misleading in the slightest.
  5. Starlink Mini Fire Sale ($199) -- My experience with the service

It’s not false advertising. It’s available in select areas, just like the advertising says it is.
  6. Grab Handles for R2

So only one dude is allowed in the vehicle?
  7. Electrek - Tesla and SpaceX announce $25B ‘Terafab’ chip factory — here’s why it reeks of desperation

He didn’t personally do it and he may be motivated solely by the money but there’s no denying that it wouldn’t have happened without his drive, ambition and willingness to spend a whole lot of money. The cofounder title may have come from a lawsuit but it’s hard to debate it when he did provide...
  8. Current charging costs?

The only real DCFC in town is a brand new Tesla station that charges $0.44/kwh for members. The other is a 50kwh at the electric company that charges by minute so at max rate it’s $0.24/kWh which is about $0.10/kwh cheaper than residential electric costs.
  9. Grab Handles for R2

I don’t think suggesting to buy a different vehicle is asshole territory. If you need a grab handle on a daily basis and the R2 doesn’t have one then you shouldn’t buy a R2. It could certainly be an inconvenience for some passengers but it’s not a safety concern, just a design decision by Rivian.
  10. Starlink Mini Fire Sale ($199) -- My experience with the service

Oh, I’m sorry. It was nice knowing you Doc. šŸ˜‚
  11. Starlink Mini Fire Sale ($199) -- My experience with the service

Fly slower? I had a good time cruising 100’ off the river and trees today well under the 100mph limit.
  12. Up to 10k interest deduction on personal auto loans in tax code.

Doesn’t matter who voted for what. Everyone is getting the stick when fuel prices are high, EV or ICE doesn’t make a difference in how everything else we buy increases in price.
  13. "I would never want to be stuck waiting for an EV to charge"

The four motor traction is absolute trash in the mud though. Learned that the hard way trying to help pull a class A RV out of a bad spot - once the wheels start spinning in mud it’s game over in a Gen 1 quad when the traction control decides that’s not what it wants to do. Hooked up a buddies...
  14. BMW M3 EV (Quad Motor) -- first leaked look

Nah. E36 coupe is where it’s at.
  15. "I would never want to be stuck waiting for an EV to charge"

To be fair, that $25k saved by charging at home with solar is significantly reduced by the cost to have purchased and installed said solar system.
  16. Grab Handles for R2

If you’re getting older and can’t get in a vehicle with 9ā€ of ground clearance…don’t buy a vehicle with 9ā€ of ground clearance. There’s also the tried and true method of grabbing into the steering wheel that’s been around forever in cars without pillar mounted grab handles.
  17. "I would never want to be stuck waiting for an EV to charge"

It’s a point that’s debated to death. EVs are great around town but not great for long distance in a hurry, not great in the cold over moderate distances, not great at towing or heavy hauling, not great in remote areas, etc. Like most everything in life there’s a decision to be made on where you...
  18. Up to 10k interest deduction on personal auto loans in tax code.

Definitely not applicable to most Rivian buyers, didn’t mean to imply that.
  19. Up to 10k interest deduction on personal auto loans in tax code.

This is good for a lot of people. There’s a huge portion of the US population that makes less than $100k AGI and bought a new car last year. They’ll only get a couple hundred dollars but that’s a couple tanks of gas these days. I’m sure there won’t be any complaints.
  20. R2 frunk can fit a Golf Bag

The bag plus irons will fit and then I guess you toss the driver and any hybrids on the trunk. Seems easier to put the whole bag in the trunk and the beers in the frunk.
