Back in May 2021 I asked about this and car seat latch system. I created a thread in R1S SUV section that has some good info. CS confirmed that 2nd row slides without having to collapse seat. Not sure if that has been confirmed again since. Lots has changed.
At this point, you are absolutely right about dual motor being vaporware. I had the same feeling and decided to ask for some details from customer service and they 1) do not have any specifics besides around 600hp and more efficient, and 2) that the assembly line is not tooled for the dual motor...
For those that are disappointed about the loss of the 5 seater, one consolation is resale value. Most people that are going to be looking at buying a R1S used will want the 3rd row version. Also, 3rd row allows you to seat 5 and carry long objects such as skis, assembled fishing rods, etc. It’s...
Hahaha. I think that might be the only thing they don’t complain about. I got a complete weathertech floor liner with the big lip around the edge to keep the suburban clean (still pulling melted crayon out of a land cruiser carpet 2 years later) and I am having the best time pissing the kids off...
Wow! Harsh. I personally enjoy a good Vietcong hotbox when I hit the spa.
Bad jokes aside, do you have personal experience with the r1s third row? Would love to know more about a personal experience.
In terms of legroom, I believe it’s 36.6”. I just bought a suburban to hold us over until...
It’s pretty clear that the $2500 up charge is for the added energy and calmness it will bring to your life. Or more likely it’s to pay the salary of the person/people hired to write this ?
My 3 year old says its a Hungry Hungry Hippo car. I see where she is coming from. It’s also going to weigh as much as two hippos. So I think we will go with The Electric Hippo for our R1S
Happy 2022, or according to the Chinese Zodiac calendar, the year of the Rivian.
Before I use the forum to vent similarly, do y’all need anything? How can a local help your community best? I’m in Littleton and we had our own small scare earlier in the week. SeaGeo’s thoughts are spot on. Was adventuring with the kids and another family in Waterton Canyon just last week and...
Happy to get some confirmation my window looks right as well. I actually switched to silver from limestone a few days ago because I was concerned color might slow down delivery (since we have yet to see a limestone vehicle). Figured when finalizing my order I could change back.
On it’s face, I agree it seems crazy. Digging in, I would assume that one or more of the following is at play.
1) Steep ramp/production curve anticipated by rivian for R1S.
2) Something in your configuration is anticipated to cause a delay
3) Not many R1S orders in 2020, so not as much space...
Probably not a whole lot of additional margin/profit from max pack over the large. Slowing down production by introducing a new variable is way more costly.
This RJ email is further proof that CS is clueless and merely exists to placate pre-order holders. They stated to many of us just last week that R1S explore would begin production in August 2022. Clearly that was incorrect and many with explore package probably kept that configuration expecting...
