Ok, if that is the case, it seems that the manufacturer would not be too keen on the dealership model as it would add a level of complexity and they would have less control over how their product is marketed, serviced, etc.

I asked about factory pick up a few weeks ago and was told that it was not available at that time but they were planning on offering it. I am about two hours north and plan on taking the train to Normal and driving my R1T home. That is what I am hoping for at least.
