I would try to eliminate all possible sources of issue. And some of those cheap adapters are 🗑️. Throwing a different flash drive in there is a real easy way to test if your issue is with the vehicle or with the storage device.

If the vehicle is not going to sleep, then yes - you're going to see that high drain and potential 12v battery damage. RR, ElectraFi, etc., can help you monitor. Iirc, this issue last year was caused by vehicles trying (and failing) to communicate with the cloud server. It was a back-end issue...
