The 22R engine in the 4Runner is bulletproof. They will practically run without any oil. The coils are notorious for crapping out. Did he figure out if the problem was fuel, air or spark?
I run the trail a handful of times each year. There is NO way I would run my R1S through the trail. IMO opinion it's not the right rig for that level of wheeling. I LOVE seeing someone do it. And eventually EVs will be capable. This was a good opportunity to learn.
1315 Greg St, Sparks, NV 89431 looks like the location. There are job posting for that location out there as well.

Everything is identical, but Rivian has obviously been working with their suppliers to refine the quality of the parts. The wood dash on my S is visibly better than the wood in the T. Even my wife said "Wow, this is so much nicer" when she got in the S for the first time.
I just traded my T for an S 2 weeks ago....
Gear tunnel = yep missing it
12v plugs = didn't use them in the T so don't miss them on the S
No wood trim on the back seats = suck for the passenger, but I am the driver, so no concerns. :)
Rivian sounds system = I prefer the Rivian sound system to...
When I got my R1T a year ago we did a road trip and the heat was unbearable in the cabin. After the road trip I had all the windows in the R1T tinted. It made a HUGE difference and made the cabin super comfortable.
We received our R1S 2 weeks ago. Drove it on a road trip and it was WAY too...
I had the darks on my R1T for 12k miles and they were like new when I traded it for the R1S (with darks). I did have the wheels ceramic coated at the same time and that made cleaning them much easier. I will say you need to pay attention to the curbs when you are parking. The flat face of the...
My R1S had a cracked roof glass too. Rivian noticed it before delivery. They fixed it and delivered the car to me a few days later.
My R1T on the other hand bricked a few months after delivery. Rivian replaced the battery and rear drive unit. The front camera filled with water this past...
TOTALLY the luck of the draw. I was very concerned when switching. Only explanation I have is mine was built in the middle of the quarter. End of the quarter builds are under a wee bit more pressure to hit eoq numbers.
I really want to remove mine. They will never be used. It shouldn't be that difficult. However once they're removed it might take some effort to design a nice solution to make the cargo area useable.
I traded my R1T in on an R1S two weeks ago. I did get an email from Rivian asking me to bring the truck, title and all accessories with me when I trade it in. They were all in the truck, but no one actually checked during the trade in process.
Installed @AO_Pete Abstract Ocean blacked out logos. Ceramic Pro coating. 3M Crystalline tint on all windows. Also blacked out the stainless strip around the top.
In all seriousness...
I did a summer road trip (850+ miles) in my R1T a year ago. We roasted in the heat and the A/C couldn't keep up. Had 3M Crystalline installed on all the windows when we got home. It was night and day different. A/C was able to keep up and you no longer feel the heat...
Keep both... :D I had an R1T for a year as a daily driver and loved every second of it. My F250 handles all the truck duties and will continue to until EV's are on par with towing capabilities of a diesel truck. I can tow 600+ miles on a single tank (55 gallons). I recently switched to an...
It funny how all of us have different perspectives about the two cars. I just traded my 1 year old R1T for an R1S. IMO I prefer the R1S to the R1T from the moment I got into it. The size of the R1S is perfect. Just about the same size as my wifes 200 Series Land Cruiser. For me, the R1T...
As a person that has had an affinity for Land Cruisers for as long as I can remember. I like the new LC and I will more than likely order one. Below is my COVID frame off restmod LS swapped FJ40 for proof of my addiction.
