Hey folks. Looking for thoughts on this to help me decide⦠I have a Gen 2 R1T delivered in January of this year. Two weeks ago, the first slat of my V1.5 tonneau cover got stuck sideways. Service says Iāll get a full tonneau cover replacement and I believe it will be a V2. Parts are not...
My Gen 2 with 1.5 tonneau cover failed a couple of weeks ago. First slate got stuck sideways. I understand from service I will get a V2 cover installed. However, the parts are not available right now. Iām told but part availability is currently slated for mid-September.
So I dropped by my local service center yesterday to show them the tonneau. They confirmed the only fix was a full cover replacement and also said water intrusion would not be an issue in the meantime. They gave me an appointment for end of August in the hope they will have received the new...
So Rivian service called me back tonight to inform me replacement tonneau covers wonāt be available until September and wanted to reschedule my Thursday appointement. I asked to keep it to see if they could at least reposition that first slat so I donāt have water coming into the motor/shaft...
Well thank you. I feel special. š
Please tell me this is an old service bulletin. They canāt still be investigations root causes of tonneau cover issues?
I will certainly push for a 2.0. Anyone knows what their policy is of late on this. Do they consistently replace like for like and make you pay if you want 2.0 or do they consistently move folks up to 2.0?
Appointment made, by the way. Going next Thursday. A dayās work typically for a replacement?
Hey all. See photo. I assume there is no fix other than a service appointment. Started with tonneau only opening a few inches and stopping. Then, I tried a reset and it got stuck sideways. This is a 1.5 tonneau. Have had it for 6 months. Hoping for a magical solution but⦠I assume it is still ok...
In case anyone has the issue. Update showed up in my car but was not downloading and said āPausedā. I was on full bar wifi next to the router at home. Was hesitant of doing a reset, fearing loosing the update altogether. Called support and they advised doing a hard reset, which I did and boom...
That is both correct and unfortunate. Keep hoping it'll get added with every new software update but I have a feeling it is not at the top their to do list.
Update. Support called me back. I had spoken to them yesterday and they wanted to bring the problem up with their ātonneauā team. Told him my findings and he confirmed the hard reset was the fix and seemed to confirm 2025.06 and the wheel swap was causing the issue so one would assume theyāre...
Great!!!
Be warned though. It may return. This afternoon, I put my summer wheel/tire set on the truck and did the change in the 2025.06 menu. When I got back into the car, both screens had gone dark. Did an infotainment reset. After that, the tonneau cover would no longer open. Luckily, I was...
Oh man. I feel silly. Had tried the reset procedure yesterday but I think I was pausing too much between the presses. Watched a YouTube short this AM demoing it and realized I was doing it wrong. Just did it again, and the problem is solved! For anyone needing the reset in the future, the...
I have not tried that. I mayā¦
However, if I did, that would mean Iād be pushing the cover in the opposite direction itās going. The motor is pushing the cover towards the liftgate even though the cover is closed and Iād be pushing it the other way towards the cabin. Not sure that would generate...
