  1. Had to replace 12v battery on Gen 1

I just had this done yesterday via mobile service. I have a sub 5k vin Gen 1 with 84k miles on it and this was the first time for battery swap. I looked at doing it myself, but being dual battery, by the time I bought all the components (2 batteries, s00nish adapters, hardware, etc) it was in...
  2. Share your Rivian Mileage & Product Ideas – Win a Gift from BestEvMod

84k here on a '22 LE R1T ..... I will second the desk request - not something that is hooked on the steering wheel, but something that perhaps connects between the center vents and the center console level with the center arm rest.
  3. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

Where are you located roughly? If someone is nearby that's installed is willing to assist, would that ease your comfort level? Honestly, removing the trim pieces is relatively easy and most of the time the clips remain intact. The only part that needs a little extra care is removing the...

  5. 100k miles on my Rivian R1T

I'm at 1367 days and 81k miles. Going to add about 3000mi to that in a trip in a couple of weeks. I have pretty similar sentiments. Been thru the ringer and it doesn't skip a beat. I'm a little harder on the battery as I have been charging to 100% for probably 2 years at this point. Only...
  6. Rivian is a no show at this years Detroit Auto Show

We had the head of the dealer's association for our state reach out to us to try to get Rivian to enter the international auto show here this year. We contacted everyone we could and tried to connect them. Rivian did what they do best and completely ghosted them. We even talked with our...

I have their answer.. they didn't need to go anywhere....
  8. Burnouts!

Very much this. If you don't have a great comfort in how to handle all 4 wheels spinning, be sure to bring a change of shorts..... It can be done pretty easily and is fun as hell, but can go very wrong very fast. You don't want to end up like "that" guy.....
  9. Comma AI/OpenPilot Update -- Watch it in Action on Gen1 Rivian (Video)

I have the comma 4 and a such, we have to run the DEV build of sunnypilot, so we have access to the newer models. I'm currently running WMIv10. Before though I was running GWMv6 for a long time. It was pretty solid for my R1T on the 3X

  12. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

The Comma is supplied with what is called Comma Power. It plugs into the obd port in the driver's foot well and into that port on the harness with the molex connector. If you do not plan to utilize that, you can use the molex connector end along with one of those fuse taps if you are...
  13. Comma AI Owner Demo Drive Connect Thread

Yes, it plugs directly into the harness connector next to where the USB-c obd cable plugs in as shown here-
  14. Some people's kids...

Let me tackle these two items. Ummm, Rivian doesn't need to hear your issues here UNLESS you aren't doing anything about them and this is where you go to disclose them. If you are taking your R1 in for service to get these things resolved, then they've already heard from their service reports...
  15. Rear Brakes "Seizing" when parked over 4hrs

Yep, moisture causing corrosion on the rotor making them "stick". When comparing this to other vehicles, you have to keep in mind how LARGE the Rivian brake pads are. There's much more to friction, so breaking it loose will take that much more effort. Don't sweat the noise. It's seasonal and...
  16. Level 3 Charging 2025-2026 for Rivian R1S May Require a $300 "Accessory"

We all happen to be in a transitional stage in charging standard that takes years to overcome. Everyone will need an adapter to fully utilize the charging network as a whole for a long while. Those with the outgoing standard will end up needing an adapter for the bulk of their DCFC for the...

  18. Successful EVPLAY install with GPS antenna, custom button & mic mount (full install video)

Mine is less than 1 second. You just can't switch back and forth in quick succession. Alex provided an update for me about screen touch responsiveness and it's pretty much instant - or at least it's ready from the time I get my hand from the button to the screen.
