It wasn't an issue for me during R1 launch, but that was before they had any demo centers. I have similar concerns that they are going to prioritize those areas over places that only have a service center in states that prohibit sales activity.
I was originally thinking I could have an R2 by...
Invite Batches
We want to give everyone the most accurate picture of when they can order their R2. To do that, we're bringing a randomly selected group of reservation holders into early batches, which will help us refine our timing estimates so that everyone can benefit from a clear and...
My first thought when I saw the design was that it looks like a saddle top on almost every scissor jack I've ever used would fit into those grooves. If that's the case, it would actually be easier to lift on my own than my old Jeep was because getting that saddle aligned right was a pain.
Bit premature to say they "never hit scale" all things considered. In 2-3 years that could be accurate if they never hit their full run rate for R2 at Normal but they are on track with Tesla at this point in terms of manufacturing scale if not slightly ahead.
My friend, finding ways to get sensors to send data to the mothership that they aren't supposed to be able to send is basically a full time hobby for the CCP. If they are able to do so with extremely simple devices I'm sure that they can manage with a highly complex machine.
My thought for loading/unloading groceries is that I'll just drop the window and keep the liftgate closed. As long as what you're loading or unloading is smaller than the window opening it will actually be easier than the split gate of the R1 becuase you don't have to worry about the overhead...
I really hope that they don't do this. Including a Chinese made LiDAR sensor would effectively make every Rivian an espionage platform for the CCP, and it would likely mean that any future Rivian vehicles would be out of consideration for me.
I think more than one of these things can be true at the same time:
1) they have increased the initial production capacity based on US demand expectations and/or the Uber deal timeline
2) they have reduced the long term production at the Georgia plant to offshore production of vehicles bound...
It's possible that they are in discussions to identify a location for local manufacturing in the EU or GBR that would take on some of the planned capacity of the Georgia site. Given the state of things over there and the general dislike for Tesla's leadership, there may be some mutual interest...
That's a pretty ridiculous generalization, considering Rivian has deployed roughly 50 major OTA update pushes at a cadence of about 12 per year with only 2-3 causing any sort of significant issues during that time.
To say the system is broken is to say that the exception is the rule. It's...
Y'all are thinking about this the wrong way.
Instead of asking which vehicle is better for escape ask: which is better for plowing through crowds of zombies? Which vehicle would be easier to modify with a zombie annihilating turret? Which vehicle could potentially power a laser for maximum...
I noticed yesterday that when my music was breaking up it coordinated with the nav freezing.
It feels like I'm trying to run Windows 10 on a Pentium 486.
My issue with Atmos tracks since the update before this most recent one is that when going from non-Atmos to Atmos in a playlist it will sometimes go half or more of the song with normal encoding and then pause and switch to Atmos and then keep playing. Sometimes it never switches at all on...
