  1. My first EV

Welcome to the Rivian (Blue) community!
  2. Range anxiety before purchasing trimotor R1S?

We have a Quad R1T on AT tires and you’ll be fine at 85% charge on the large pack battery. (I know you’re looking at the tri motor) Always have an option or plan to hit a charger if needed. Look at PlugShare to locate L2 and L3 chargers. There’s nothing wrong with charging to 100% at home on a...

đź’Ż Trust anything he says with a huge grain of salt. (and look at his history and motivations)
  4. Cow Van: Ben & Jerrys Rivian Ice Cream Vans Unveiled [Video Added]

The range of the EDV's was specifically laid out by Amazon when Rivian was designing the vans. It was designed for the average driver to do their route on a single charge. Most delivery drivers drive only 50mi a day, but it's a lot of stop-and-go driving. That's why the vans were designed this way.
  5. Federal NEVI EV charger program cancelled

From the article: I don’t believe FHWA has the authority to pause or rescind any aspect of NEVI. The Trump administration is clearly trying to stop or pause programs like NEVI for as long as they can, but I assume lawsuits from states will start soon, and this will go to court and Congress …...
  6. Service Air Suspension Soon warning, leaking suspension fluid

We just had our quad R1T in to repair what appears to be the same issue. In October we had a mobile service for a tire rotation and our tech noticed a leaking hydraulic line on the rear driver side. We did not have the error on the dash, but the tech warned if enough oil leaked out that we...
  7. Opinions on selling price.

That dealer offer does some reasonable. Before we took delivery of our R1T we sold our 2019 Macan. We checked prices from Carmax, Carvana and then KBB instant cash offer. The KBB came in the highest and it gives you the name of a local dealer that will accept or beat that price. We took it to...
  8. Glen Burnie Service Center - NOW OPEN!

Had our R1T at Gaithersburg last Wednesday. They said 3-weeks if we left it, or wait and they'd fix it same day. We waited. It took all day, but it was done. The SC has more than 150 new R1 vehicles they are preparing for delivery, so they are slammed with end of year prep/delivery right now.
  9. CNN - Jeep was a hot brand. Then Stellantis priced its fans out of its showrooms

2022, before we took delivery of our R1T, we looked at a Wrangler Rubicon 4xe. Dealers in our area were charging $80k+ for them at the time with huge dealer markups. The prices were crazy ridiculous. I think these prices on the higher trim Jeeps drove away customers. Now that supply/inventory...
  10. Home charging speeds?⚡️⚡️

The goal with high speed charging is to pull in and charge when you're state-of-charge is around 20-30% and then disconnect when you hit 75-80% and then hop to the next charger. If you do that, your high speed (Level3) charge sessions will be in the 30-40min range. Great breaks for food, stretch...
  11. Home charging speeds?⚡️⚡️

Just a little bit of charging info: Level 1: Standard wall outlet. Level 2: Your Tesla at home charger or comparable competing home charger Level 3: Supercharger, RAN, EA, (anywhere from 50kw to 350) At home, as other have mentioned, on a 60-amp circuit you get 48amps of charging. (80% of the...
  12. Flat tire warranty?

Rivian specifically told me they only patch, not plug tires. They said the tires will not hold up to a plug due to the weight of the vehicle. This was told to me by a Rivian tire tech during a mobile service tire rotation.
  13. Rivian Owner Age Demographics Poll

Had an old business associate years ago who said when you see someone driving a fancy car they either have a lot of money or a lot of debt.
  14. Any Non-Connect+ Users got the 2024.39 Update yet?

Activated the paid C+ this morning. Within an hour we got the OTA. (One data point)
  15. I guess it was my turn… (R1T accident video). Diminished value claim advice?

RE Diminished value, this is something that gets claimed once the repairs are made. Your insurance agent can advise, but in most instances you make this request to the other drivers insurance company. Regarding the independent appraisal mentioned above that's an interesting recommendation and...
  16. R1S no longer routing on I-66 in Nova?

I've had issues with I-66 and the 495 Express Lanes. The system will just keep "re-routing" over and over and over again. I was in Arlington two weeks ago and was hopping on 66 W to head to the Dulles Toll Road and the nav system didn't want me on 66 or the toll road.
  17. R2 Tour Cities / Destinations

RIVN seems to always skip DC/NOVA/MD
  18. Took the R1S to Big Meadows in Shenandoah National Park (VA) for weekend glamp out.

We stayed at the lodge at Big Meadows in June. We got a lot of questions about the R1T while parked outside of reception/checking in. There's (1) charger at Big Meadows near the visitor center and (1) 10 miles north at Skyland. They can get snatched up quickly and they are not fast, but work in...
  19. Taking Delivery Friday, sign contract beforehand?

If it makes you feel any better, we took delivery of our R1T in 12/22 at the factory in Illinois. We paid for the truck, signed all of the electronic paperwork, bought airline tickets and traveled to Normal without ever seeing the truck. We did have some final paperwork to sign in person at the...
