  1. Tesla saves Rivian - Mammoth Mountain Edition

PostScript. I had the time to post that story on the forums because Rivian decided a streaming service isn't a high priority feature. But I'm glad they have been focused on important things like Halloween mode.
  2. Tesla saves Rivian - Mammoth Mountain Edition

When my wife saw the first promo videos for the R1S "Adventure" vehicle cruising up a mountain with ski racks and a truck full of happy passengers, she turned to me and said, "I'm sold." Fast forward 5 years, I am looking at the R1S range 'snow mode' and the 93 miles left has to last through...
  3. CONCERN: RIVN have enough cash to to go beyond 2025 and launch R2?

Delayed Georgia and survived 2023, I still think there is a 1/3 chance Rivian goes under this year. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/msnbc-article-rivian-falls-apart.10882/post-249311 https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/msnbc-article-rivian-falls-apart.10882/post-249349 RJ...
  4. $RIVN closed above its 200 day moving average for the first time

Obviously, the lawsuit has merit. Who believes Rivian leadership had no idea they needed to raise MSRP because their COGS were completely out of alignment with pre-launch pricing prior to IPO?
  5. POLL: Would you like Rivian to adopt NACS Tesla charging standard?

I've posted lots of content on Tesla charging network >> Rivian network over the last 6 months. When I cited the poor safety metrics of the '22 R1S, your buddy DuoRivian called it FUD. It's the same playbook in every thread involving Tesla. You should feel embarrassed with the manner in which...
  6. POLL: Would you like Rivian to adopt NACS Tesla charging standard?

I'm sure if you just keep posting gifs you'll change everyone's mind. Take the L like an adult.
  7. Top 5 Reasons Switching to a Tesla Dominated NACS Standard is a Colossal Mistake for the Consumer

Poll results are pretty decisive, Rivian Forums users want NACS! Let's hope Rivian sees the writing on the wall and starts working on a retrofit plan. I'm sure we've all seen the very vocal (and small minority 1/5) RJ fanboys furiously attacking anyone who voted yes. It's not worth engaging the...
  8. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

How many of those Raptors/TRXs actually sit in a garage most of the time burning 0 gasoline, while a Rivian burns energy 24 hours per day every day? There's lots of folks that use the Raptors as a toy not a daily driver.
  9. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

Multiply that across a fleet of 100,000 vehicles, if Rivian can hit their targets for the year. That's a huge amount of waste, like 0.5 x Small Nuclear Reactor worth of waste. Rivian shouldn't be receiving subsidies with that type of waste. Is removing an ICE a net benefit, probably, which is...
  10. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

Huge government subsidies are not the *free market*, you missed the entire intent of the post. I also said Rivian should have to repay the subsidy, not the customer. This level of vampire drain is unacceptable and Rivian needs to prioritize fixing it asap.
  11. NEW UPDATE: Version 2023.18.00 (Internal Beta): Scheduled Charging In The Rivian Mobile App, Driver+ Improvements, Usability Improvements, and More

How many people think Rivian should have to pay the US Government back for customer EV tax credits until vampire drain is <.1% per day? Could be a pro-rata reimbursement. I think that would properly incentivise Rivian to fix this issue.
  12. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

  13. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

I didn't lose money on Rivian stock, I sold most of it at a profit b/c their valuations given the headwinds were crazy. I still have a few shares, but I've written those off. Net positive $ gain. If Rivian leadership planned the price hike prior to the IPO, it should have been disclosed and...
  14. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

Third rows are trash even in the Rivian, seats don't recline and leg room is pretty small; certainly better then the MY, but not by a lot. I don't put my kids back there unless there is no other option. I would 100% trust Tesla over Rivian for safety. A Tesla fell off a 100ft cliff and...
  15. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

MY has a 7 passenger version. Lots of people are cross-shopping, and these Tesla price drops + tax rebate will impact Rivian sales - R1 and R2.
  16. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

R1S has been crash tested by Rivian. Maybe I'm mistaken and the video I saw was R1T - seems likely. The thread is about Tesla's pricing changes, so it seems rationale to post about comparisons b/w Rivian and Tesla given this is Rivian Forums.
  17. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

Based off the number of likes for some of my previous posts, it seems you're having a hard time understanding that people should have access to positive and negative opinions. I own no Tesla stock nor do I plan on buying any. But I have been a happy owner of their product. I wish my Rivian...
  18. Tesla Slashes Prices Again - $39,900 M3, $49,900 MY Long Range

I couldn't find the video for the R1S, which is not a top safety pick and does not outperform the Model Y. I remember seeing an R1S video that detailed the failure in the rear passenger airbag, but couldn't find the video. https://www.iihs.org/ratings/vehicle/Rivian/r1s-4-door-suv/2022...
